As a flight attendant, you were used to dealing with all kinds of passengers—nervous flyers, demanding travelers, and even the occasional flirt. But today was different.
As you made your way down the aisle during the flight, you couldn't help but notice one passenger in particular, a young man with soft blond hair and freckles sitting in seat 23A. He looked like the kind of guy who had a quiet charm about him, but what caught your attention was how nervous he seemed every time you approached.
At first, you thought he might be anxious about flying. When you asked him if he wanted something to drink, he could barely manage a response, stuttering out a "Th-thank you" with a shy smile. You smiled back, trying to put him at ease, but the more times you walked by, the more obvious it became that this wasn't just normal flight nerves.
Every time you passed his row, his hands would fidget, and his cheeks would flush pink. You began to wonder if there was something else on his mind, but you shrugged it off, figuring he was just shy.
It wasn't until his friend, Hyunjin, got up to go to the bathroom that the pieces started to fall into place. As he passed you in the aisle, Hyunjin leaned in with a teasing grin and whispered, "Just so you know, Felix over there? He's got a huge crush on you. That's why he's so nervous."
Your heart skipped a beat. You blinked, caught completely off guard by the revelation. "What?" you stammered, feeling a blush creeping up your cheeks.
Hyunjin chuckled softly, clearly amused by your reaction. "Yep, he's been a wreck since you started coming by. Poor guy can barely talk around you."
You stood there for a moment, stunned. Felix had a crush on you? That explained so much—his nervousness, the way he stuttered when you spoke to him, the quick glances he kept sneaking your way. But now that you knew, your own nerves began to flare up. How were you supposed to act around him now?
As Hyunjin continued on to the bathroom, you found yourself glancing over at Felix again. He was fidgeting with the hem of his shirt, completely unaware of what Hyunjin had just told you. You took a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart as you made your way back down the aisle, determined to keep your composure.
But when you reached his row, your own nerves betrayed you. "Um, d-do you need anything?" you asked, your voice coming out shakier than you intended.
Felix looked up at you, and the moment your eyes met, his face turned a deep shade of red. "I-I'm good, th-thanks," he stammered, barely managing to get the words out.
The air between you felt charged with nervous energy, and suddenly, you found yourself blushing too. "A-alright," you replied, your heart pounding in your chest. You quickly moved on, a shy smile tugging at your lips.
Hyunjin, returning from the bathroom, caught the exchange and let out a quiet groan. He had assumed that once you knew about Felix's crush, you might take the first step. But it was clear to him now that you were just as flustered as Felix was.
Throughout the flight, you kept glancing over at Felix, and every time, you both ended up stammering through the brief exchanges. Felix tried to muster the courage to say something more, but his nerves got the best of him each time.
After a particularly awkward encounter where both of you had stumbled over your words, Hyunjin realized that if anything was going to happen, he'd have to step up his matchmaking efforts.
As the plane began its descent, Hyunjin leaned over to Felix, who was staring out the window with a mix of determination and anxiety. "Hey," Hyunjin whispered, giving him a nudge. "You've got to ask for her number, mate. You'll regret it if you don't."
Felix glanced at him, his eyes wide with worry. "I can't do that, Hyunjin. Did you see how I couldn't even talk to her properly?"
Hyunjin rolled his eyes with a smile. "She's just as nervous as you are, Felix. Trust me, she likes you too. You've got to ask before the flight ends."
Felix swallowed hard, his mind racing. The thought of asking you for your number made his heart pound, but the idea of missing the opportunity was even worse.
When the plane finally landed and the seatbelt sign turned off, Felix waited until most of the passengers had exited. As you stood near the exit, thanking everyone for flying, you noticed Felix lingering near the back, clearly working up the nerve to approach you.
When he finally reached you, his face was flushed, and he seemed more nervous than ever. "H-hi," he managed to say, his voice trembling slightly.
"Hi," you replied, feeling your own nerves spike again.
Felix took a deep breath, summoning all his courage. "I, um... I was wondering if maybe... I could get your number?"
His request came out in a rush, his face bright red as he looked at you hopefully.
For a moment, you were too stunned to speak, your heart skipping a beat. But then a smile spread across your face, and you quickly grabbed a small notepad from your pocket. "Y-yeah, of course," you stammered, scribbling down your number with slightly shaking hands.
When you handed him the paper, Felix's eyes lit up with relief and excitement. "Th-thank you," he said, his shy smile making your heart flutter.
"You're welcome," you replied, your voice soft. "I'll look forward to hearing from you."
Felix nodded, his smile growing wider as he clutched the piece of paper. "Y-yeah, I'll text you soon."
As Felix walked away, your heart was still racing from the encounter. You watched him disappear into the terminal, a giddy excitement bubbling up inside you. Hyunjin was the last to exit, pausing just long enough to give you a knowing smile and a wink before following Felix out of the plane.
