The bond you and your best friend Hyunjin share is unique, an unspoken connection that others might find strange but makes perfect sense to the two of you. It started with a simple moment—Hyunjin playing a slow song on his phone one evening and holding out his hand to you, inviting you to dance. You had laughed, thinking he was joking, but when you saw the sincerity in his eyes, you took his hand. Since then, it's become your little tradition. No matter where you are or what you're doing, if Hyunjin feels the moment is right, he'll play a slow song, and the two of you will dance together.

It doesn't matter if you're in the practice room, lounging in the dorm living room, waiting for the bus, or even hanging out in Jeongin's room—when the music starts, everything else fades away, and it's just the two of you, lost in the rhythm.

One evening, after a long day of practice, you find yourself in the dorm kitchen with Hyunjin. The two of you are making a late-night snack, your conversation easy and full of light-hearted banter. The kitchen is quiet, the only sound being the soft hum of the refrigerator and the occasional clatter of dishes as you work side by side.

Then, without warning, Hyunjin pulls out his phone and taps on it, filling the small space with the sound of a familiar slow tune. You don't need to look at him to know what's coming next. Sure enough, when you turn around, he's standing there with that playful smile on his lips, his hand extended toward you.

"Here? Really?" you ask, though you're already wiping your hands on a towel, a smile tugging at the corners of your mouth.

"Why not?" he replies with a grin, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "It's our thing, right?"

You roll your eyes fondly but take his hand, stepping closer as he pulls you into the makeshift dance floor between the kitchen counter and the dining table. His hands find your waist, and yours rest on his shoulders as the two of you begin to sway to the music, moving in perfect sync.

The kitchen feels smaller, cozier, as you dance together. Hyunjin twirls you under his arm, making you laugh as you spin, and when he pulls you back, your chest presses against his, leaving you both closer than before. Your heart skips a beat at the proximity, and you find yourself looking up into his eyes, feeling something shift in the air between you.

The song continues to play, and Hyunjin's hold on you tightens just a little, his gaze locked on yours. There's something in the way he looks at you that makes your breath catch—a softness, a warmth that feels like it's been there all along, but only now are you truly seeing it.

Before you can fully process the moment, the kitchen door swings open, and Lee Know walks in. He stops dead in his tracks, his eyes widening at the sight of you and Hyunjin wrapped up in each other, slow dancing in the middle of the kitchen as if it's the most natural thing in the world.

He blinks, a smirk forming on his lips as he takes in the familiar scene. "You two should just kiss already," he says, his tone teasing but with a hint of seriousness.

You feel your face heat up, about to pull away and laugh off his comment, but before you can say anything, Hyunjin surprises you. He gently tilts your chin up with his fingers, his touch light but firm. His eyes search yours for a brief moment, and then, without hesitation, he leans in and presses his lips to yours.

The kiss is soft, gentle, and utterly unexpected. Your heart races as you melt into it, your hands instinctively moving up to cup his face. The world around you blurs, and all you can focus on is the feel of Hyunjin's lips on yours, the way he's holding you like you're something precious.

When he finally pulls back, his forehead rests against yours, and he's smiling, that same playful yet tender smile that makes your heart flutter. You blink up at him, feeling dazed and giddy, as if you're floating on air.

Lee Know, who has been watching the entire scene unfold, is too stunned to speak. His mouth opens and closes a few times as if trying to find the words, but all that comes out is a soft, disbelieving laugh.

"Well... I didn't think you'd actually do it," he finally says, shaking his head in amazement.

Hyunjin chuckles, still holding you close. "Neither did I," he admits, his voice low and warm.

You can't help but laugh along, feeling a mix of surprise, joy, and relief. The weight of unspoken feelings that had been lingering between you and Hyunjin lifts, replaced by a certainty that had been growing for some time. This was always more than just friendship, and now, with that kiss, everything makes sense.

Lee Know slowly backs out of the room, giving the two of you some space. "I'll, uh, let you guys finish... whatever this is," he says with a grin, clearly still processing what he just witnessed.

As soon as he's gone, you and Hyunjin look at each other and burst into laughter, the tension breaking as you lean into each other. The kitchen, once just a place for snacks and conversations, now feels like the starting point of something new, something exciting.

Hyunjin pulls you back into the dance, the music still playing softly in the background. He smiles down at you, his eyes filled with affection. "So, does this mean we're more than just dance partners now?" he teases, his voice light but with a hint of seriousness.

You grin, feeling a warmth spread through your chest as you nod. "I think it does."

He leans down, brushing another soft kiss against your lips, and you can't help but feel like this is exactly where you're meant to be—dancing with Hyunjin, in the middle of the kitchen, with the whole world ahead of you.
