The argument had come out of nowhere. You and Seungmin were supposed to be getting ready for a friend's party, but instead, you found yourselves in the midst of a heated exchange.

"I just don't understand why you have to be so difficult about this!" Seungmin snapped, his frustration palpable.

"Difficult? All I wanted was for you to listen to me for once instead of always brushing me off!" you fired back, feeling the sting of his words.

"You know I'm busy, Y/N. I can't just drop everything every time you want to talk about something trivial."

"Trivial? You know what? Get lost, Seungmin!" That was the last straw. You stormed into the bedroom, slamming the door behind you. The party was the last thing on your mind now, but the more you thought about it, the more a plan began to form.

If Seungmin thought your concerns were trivial, you'd show him just how significant they could be. You pulled out a dress from the back of your closet, one you had bought on a whim but never had the nerve to wear. It was a daring, figure-hugging red dress with a neckline that plunged provocatively and a slit that ran high up your thigh.

You took your time getting ready, applying makeup meticulously and styling your hair just right. When you finally stepped out of the bedroom, you saw Seungmin's eyes widen as he took in your appearance. He opened his mouth to say something, but you brushed past him without a word.

The ride to the party was silent, tension hanging thick in the air. You could feel Seungmin's eyes on you, flicking between the road and your dress, his jaw tight. You pretended not to notice, staring out the window instead.

When you arrived at the party, you were immediately greeted by friends. You flashed them your brightest smile, trying to shake off the residual anger from the argument. Seungmin followed close behind, his hand occasionally brushing against your back, a possessive gesture that didn't go unnoticed.

"Y/N, you look incredible tonight," one of your friends said, her eyes wide as she took in your dress.

"Thank you," you replied, casting a quick glance at Seungmin. He was talking to a friend, but his eyes were fixed on you, a dark intensity in his gaze.

As the night wore on, you could feel the tension between you and Seungmin escalating. He approached you multiple times, only for you to evade him each time, keeping the game going. Finally, as you were talking with a group near the dance floor, he came up behind you, his hand gripping your arm gently but firmly.

"We need to talk," he said, his voice low and controlled.

"Can't it wait?" you replied, turning to face him with a defiant look. "I'm busy and I'm sure it's something trivial." You were petty, but he deserved it.

"Y/N," he said, his eyes locking onto yours with a mixture of frustration and something else, something darker. "Now."

You sighed dramatically but allowed him to lead you to a quieter corner of the room. His grip on your arm was firm, and you could feel the heat of his anger and something else—something more possessive.

"What do you want, Seungmin?" you asked, crossing your arms and glaring at him.

"What are you trying to prove?" he asked, his eyes burning into yours.

"I don't know what you're talking about," you said, lifting your chin defiantly.

His gaze flicked down to the neckline of your dress resting there for a second too long. "My eyes are up here, Seungmin," you said, pushing his head up by his chin.

His jaw clenched, and he took a step closer, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. "You know exactly what you're doing, Y/N."

"And what's that?" you challenged, refusing to back down.

"You're trying to provoke me," he said, his eyes never leaving yours. "And it's working."

You felt a thrill of satisfaction at his words, but you didn't let it show. "Maybe I wouldn't have to if you didn't dismiss me all the time."

He took a deep breath, his hands moving to rest on your shoulders. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I didn't mean to make you feel like your concerns aren't important. I've been stressed, but that's no excuse."

You looked into his eyes, seeing the sincerity there. "You really hurt me, Seungmin."

"I know," he said, his voice softening. "And I'm sorry. I'll do better. I promise."

You took a deep breath, feeling some of the anger begin to dissipate. "Okay. But you need to mean it. I can't keep feeling like this."

He nodded, his hands sliding down your arms to take your hands in his. "I do mean it. And I'm sorry for making you feel like you had to go to such lengths to get my attention."

You squeezed his hands, feeling a sense of relief. "Thank you."

He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "You look amazing tonight, by the way. But you don't need to wear a dress like this to get my attention. You have it, always."

You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through you. "Thanks, Seungmin."

As you stood there, his arms wrapped around you, he glanced around the room. "I think we should head home," he said softly.

"Why?" you asked, tilting your head.

"Because I'm not the only one looking at you," he said, a hint of protectiveness in his voice. He shrugged off his jacket and draped it over your shoulders, covering the revealing dress. "Let's go home."

You looked up at him, touched by the gesture. "Alright," you agreed, feeling the tension between you dissipate completely.

As you walked out of the party, Seungmin's arm securely around your waist, you felt a sense of contentment. The argument had been tough, but it had also brought you closer. And as Seungmin held you close, his jacket wrapped protectively around you, you knew that no matter what, you and Seungmin would always find your way back to each other.
