Seonghwa and Yeosang had been looking forward to their rare day off with nothing but relaxation in mind. The other members of ATEEZ were out on separate schedules, leaving the two of them alone in their shared dorm. They decided to spend the day lounging around, enjoying each other's company, and savoring the rare moment of peace.

Yeosang had his nose buried in a book while Seonghwa was busy experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen. The comforting scent of herbs and spices filled the apartment as Seonghwa hummed softly to himself. The day seemed perfect—until the earth beneath them started to tremble.

At first, it was a subtle quiver, almost imperceptible. But within seconds, the tremor grew into a violent shake. The apartment walls rattled, and the lights flickered ominously. Yeosang's book fell to the floor as he looked up in alarm. Seonghwa, already aware of the danger, rushed out of the kitchen to find Yeosang.

"Yeosang, get down!" Seonghwa shouted over the noise, his voice strained and urgent. He threw himself towards Yeosang, pushing him to the ground as a bookshelf toppled over, sending its contents crashing down.

The apartment seemed to implode around them. Seonghwa shielded Yeosang with his body as debris rained down. Despite his efforts, a heavy beam struck Seonghwa's side, and he grimaced in pain, his strength waning. But he kept his focus on Yeosang, making sure the younger man was as protected as possible.

The tremors subsided after what felt like an eternity. The apartment was a wreck—furniture upended, broken glass scattered across the floor, and dust hanging heavily in the air. Seonghwa lay still, his body partially pinned under the beam. Yeosang, stunned and covered in a thin layer of dust, scrambled to Seonghwa's side.

"Hyung!" Yeosang's voice was choked with fear and desperation. He tried to move the beam but found it too heavy. "Seonghwa hyung, are you okay?"

Seonghwa's eyes fluttered open, a pained smile touching his lips despite the blood trickling from a gash on his forehead. "Sangie... are you alright?" His voice was barely more than a whisper.

Yeosang nodded vigorously, his eyes brimming with tears. "I'm fine. But you're hurt. I need to get you out from under this."

With a strained effort, Yeosang managed to lift the beam just enough to free Seonghwa's legs. He carefully pulled the older man out, his hands trembling. Seonghwa's face was pale, his breathing ragged, but he managed to give Yeosang a reassuring nod.

"Just... stay with me," Seonghwa murmured. "Help is on the way."

Yeosang wanted to argue, to insist that Seonghwa needed immediate medical attention, but his own heart was pounding with worry. He searched for a phone amidst the chaos, but the devices had been crushed. All he could do was hold Seonghwa's hand and wait for the others to come back.

Meanwhile, the other members of ATEEZ had finished their schedules and were on their way back to the dorm. They'd expected to find it just as they'd left it—quiet and relaxed. Instead, they were greeted by an unsettling scene as they approached their building. The once-familiar structure was now a heap of rubble.

Hongjoong, Mingi, Yunho, San, Wooyoung, and Jongho scrambled out of the van, their faces etched with concern. The sight of the wreckage left them momentarily paralyzed. Then the panic set in.

"Seonghwa hyung! Yeosang!" Hongjoong's voice cut through the chaos, his calls growing more frantic with each passing moment. "Answer us!"

The members began to dig through the debris, calling out names and hoping for any sign of their friends. Dust coated their skin and clothes, but they pressed on, the urgency in their movements palpable.

"Over here!" Wooyoung's shout came from a particularly unstable pile of rubble. He and Yunho worked together to shift the debris, their hearts racing as they hoped for any sign of life.

"Yeosang! Seonghwa!" Hongjoong's voice cracked with desperation. "Please, answer us!"

"Hongjoong hyung!" Yeosang's weak cry finally pierced through the noise. "We're here!"

The members hurried toward the sound, their efforts redoubling. As they cleared away the debris, they finally found Yeosang, covered in scratches and bruises but otherwise intact. He was kneeling beside Seonghwa, who lay unconscious, his face pale and bloodied.

"Seonghwa hyung!" San dropped to his knees beside him, his hands shaking as he checked for a pulse. "Hyung, wake up!"

"He saved me," Yeosang choked out, his voice breaking. "The beam fell, and he protected me. He's hurt badly."

Without hesitation, Jongho grabbed his phone, dialing emergency services with trembling hands. The other members did their best to keep Seonghwa comfortable and stabilized until help arrived.

The ambulance arrived swiftly, and the paramedics carefully lifted Seonghwa onto a stretcher, preparing him for transport. The members, though devastated, tried to maintain a hopeful front as they followed the ambulance to the hospital.

At the hospital, Yeosang was a bundle of nerves, his hands clutching Seonghwa's as they wheeled him into the emergency room. He was barely able to comprehend the medical terms thrown around him, his focus entirely on his Seonghwa hyung's still form.

The hours ticked by painfully slowly. The rest of the members stayed by Yeosang's side, offering comfort and support, but their concern for Seonghwa was palpable. Finally, a doctor emerged from the ER, his face grave.

"We've done all we can for now," the doctor said. "He's in a coma. The next 24 to 48 hours will be crucial."

Yeosang's heart sank, but he nodded, tears spilling down his cheeks. "Can I stay with him?"

"Of course," the doctor said softly. "You can wait in the room until he wakes up."

Yeosang settled into the chair beside Seonghwa's bed, his gaze never leaving the older man's face. He held Seonghwa's hand, whispering to him through the long, silent hours.

"I'm so sorry, hyung," he murmured, his voice breaking. "I didn't want this to happen. Please, come back to us. I need you."

Two weeks passed in a blur of sleepless nights and tearful days. Yeosang stayed by Seonghwa's side, his guilt and worry consuming him. He talked to Seonghwa, read to him, and held his hand, hoping that somehow, the strength of his emotions would reach through the darkness.

Finally, one morning, as the first rays of sunlight filtered through the hospital window, Seonghwa's fingers twitched in Yeosang's grasp. The younger man's heart leaped as he looked up to see Seonghwa's eyes fluttering open.

"Seonghwa hyung?" Yeosang's voice was choked with emotion. "Can you hear me?"

Seonghwa's eyes met Yeosang's, and though they were still clouded with confusion and exhaustion, there was a flicker of recognition. "Yeosangie?" he rasped, his voice weak but filled with concern.

Yeosang's tears flowed freely as he leaned closer. "I'm here. You're awake. You made it."

Seonghwa managed a faint, relieved smile. "I... I'm glad you're okay. I was so worried."

"I'm fine," Yeosang said, his voice trembling with relief. "But you—you need to rest now. We'll get through this together."

As the days went by and Seonghwa began to recover, the members of ATEEZ gathered around him, their relief and gratitude palpable. The apartment was being repaired, and though the memories of the earthquake lingered, they were bolstered by the strength and support of their friends.

Yeosang, still carrying the weight of guilt but comfoted by Seonghwa's recovery, stayed by his side through every step of the healing process. The bond between them, tested by disaster and forged in the fires of adversity, grew even stronger. And though the scars of that day would never fully fade, they had found solace in each other and the unbreakable ties of their friendship.
