Kun's mind was still buzzing from the energy of the recording session. The late-night recording of "Marine Turtle" with NCT U had been intense, and though he was exhausted, there was a thrill in completing something so challenging. He sank into the plush seat of the car, allowing his weariness to wash over him as the vehicle began its journey back to the WayV dorm.

The rain started to fall just as they were leaving the studio. At first, it was just a light drizzle, but within minutes, it had intensified into a torrential downpour. The windshield wipers worked furiously, and Kun watched the blurred lights of the city through the rain-slicked window, trying to shake off the fatigue. His driver slowed down for safety, the car's tires hissing against the wet pavement.

Kun was halfway through a text to one of the members when he heard a deafening screech of brakes. The car lurched violently, and before Kun could process what was happening, the world exploded into chaos. There was an ear-splitting crash, a jarring impact that seemed to last forever, and then everything went dark.

When Kun opened his eyes, he was met with a world of fractured light and pain. His vision was a haze of shadows and flickering lights, his body feeling like it had been twisted and torn apart. He tried to move, but pain shot through him, a sharp, burning sensation that made him gasp. His head was throbbing, and his chest felt constricted, like a heavy weight was pressing down on him.

Voices reached his ears, distant and distorted. The sound of the rain pounding on the car roof mingled with the murmurs of people. His senses were overwhelmed, and he could barely make out the figure of his driver, who was frantically speaking into a phone. The driver's face was pale, and his hands were shaking, but he seemed to be managing despite the chaos.

The driver managed to call the ambulance, and after a few minutes that felt like hours, the wail of sirens approached. Kun could feel the cool, soothing touch of paramedics as they carefully extracted him from the wreckage. Every movement was agony, and he couldn't suppress the cry of pain that escaped his lips. His mind was foggy, the pain making it difficult to think clearly. He caught glimpses of the driver being attended to as well, though he was less injured, their attention focused on Kun.

The journey to the hospital felt interminable. Kun was semi-conscious for most of it, the paramedics working tirelessly to stabilize him. The pain was overwhelming, each breath a struggle, and he could barely process the flurry of activity around him.

When he finally arrived at the hospital, Kun was whisked away to the emergency room, the cold, sterile environment a jarring contrast to the chaos he had been pulled from. The doctors and nurses were swift and efficient, their movements precise as they worked to assess and treat his injuries. He could hear fragmented snippets of their conversations, words like "severe internal bleeding," "multiple fractures," and "life-threatening."

Meanwhile, at the WayV dorm, the other members were winding down after a long day. Ten was scrolling through his phone when a call from the company flashed on his screen. He answered with a distracted "Hello?"

"Ten, it's urgent," the voice on the other end said, tense and clipped. "There's been an accident. Kun's been seriously injured."

The blood drained from Ten's face. "What? Kun-hyung? Is he okay?"

The voice continued, "He's in critical condition. The driver managed to call an ambulance. We've informed the hospital. You need to get there immediately."

Without a word, Ten bolted out of the room, the rest of the members scrambling to follow. WinWin, Hendery, Xiaojun, and Yangyang were instantly alert, their faces etched with concern as Ten relayed the details. The mood shifted from exhaustion to sheer panic as they rushed to the hospital.

The drive to the hospital was a blur of red lights and sirens, the members' hearts pounding in their chests. They arrived to find the hospital's emergency room bustling with activity. The sight of the bustling hallway and the hurried movements of medical personnel only heightened their anxiety.

As they reached the front desk, Ten took charge, trying to get information on Kun's condition. The receptionist, though sympathetic, could only provide limited information, directing them to the waiting area.

They slumped into the uncomfortable chairs, the minutes ticking by like hours. The worry etched deep into their faces, each member lost in their thoughts and fears. Xiaojun was pacing, his hands clenched into fists. Hendery sat in silence, his eyes staring blankly at the floor. Yangyang was visibly distraught, his eyes red-rimmed from unshed tears. WinWin, ever the calming presence, tried to offer words of comfort, but even his voice wavered.

Hours later, a doctor finally emerged, looking exhausted but composed. The members rushed to him, their faces a mixture of hope and dread.

"Are you here for Mr Qian?" the doctor asked, his tone gentle but serious.

"Yes," Ten said, stepping forward. "How is he? Can we see him?"

The doctor took a deep breath. "Mr Qian sustained severe injuries in the accident. He has multiple fractures and significant internal bleeding. We've stabilized him, but he's still in critical condition. The next few hours will be crucial."

The news was a punch to the gut. The members struggled to process the gravity of the situation. The doctor's words echoed in their minds as they tried to hold onto the fragile hope that Kun would pull through.

As the night wore on, they stayed in the waiting area, each lost in their own thoughts. The hospital's fluorescent lights cast a harsh glow on their faces, and the silence was occasionally broken by the distant sounds of medical machinery.

Eventually, a nurse approached them with a soft smile. "Mr Qian is in recovery now. He's still unconscious, but you can see him for a few minutes."

Relief mixed with apprehension as they followed the nurse to Kun's room. The sight of him lying in the hospital bed, pale and still, was almost too much to bear. His face was bruised, and there were tubes and monitors surrounding him, beeping rhythmically.

The members gathered around his bedside, their emotions raw and unfiltered. They each took turns speaking to him, their voices breaking as they expressed their love and support. Ten's voice trembled as he spoke, his words of encouragement mingled with his tears. WinWin held Kun's hand, offering silent comfort. Xiaojun's eyes were filled with determination, while Hendery and Yangyang both struggled to stay composed.

The hours passed slowly, each minute marked by the steady beeping of the heart monitor. The members took turns keeping vigil, their presence a constant reminder of the love and support surrounding Kun. They knew the road to recovery would be long and difficult, but they were determined to be there for him every step of the way.

As dawn broke and the first light of morning filtered through the window, the members remained by Kun's side, their spirits unwavering despite the uncertainty. The ordeal had brought them even closer together, united by their concern for their leader and eldest hyung.

Kun's journey to recovery would be arduous, but with the unwavering support of his members and the dedication of the medical staff, there was hope that he would emerge from this dark time stronger than ever.
