The sound of screeching tires, a loud crash, and the sharp sting of shattered glass-those were the last things Ricky remembered before everything went dark. When he finally regained consciousness, he found himself in a sterile hospital room, the beeping of machines a steady background noise. His head throbbed, his body felt heavy, and confusion gripped him like a vice.

As he blinked his eyes open, he was greeted by unfamiliar faces, their expressions a mixture of relief and worry. One of them, a tall young man with soft eyes, immediately rushed to his side, gripping his hand tightly. "Ricky, thank God you're awake."

Ricky stared at him, the name unfamiliar on his tongue. "Ricky?"

The room seemed to still. The man's face faltered, his grip tightening as if he were trying to hold on to something slipping through his fingers. "Yeah, Ricky... that's your name."

Ricky frowned, his head pounding as he tried to make sense of it all. He didn't know this person. He didn't know any of the people standing around his bed, all watching him with worried, expectant eyes. Panic began to rise in his chest as he looked around the room, feeling trapped in his own mind.

"I... I don't remember," Ricky whispered, his voice trembling.

The doctors had explained it to him-temporary amnesia, caused by the trauma of the accident. His memories could come back in days, weeks, or even months. There was no way of knowing when, or if, they would return.

But the explanation didn't make it any easier.

Ricky felt like a stranger in his own life. He was told that he was a member of a group called ZEROBASEONE, that these eight young men surrounding him were his group members, his friends, his brothers. Yet, when he looked at them, all he felt was confusion and fear. He had no recollection of their faces, their names, or the bond they claimed to share with him.

The one who had been holding his hand was Jiwoong, the eldest of the group. He was the one who seemed the most affected by Ricky's memory loss, though he tried his best to hide it. Jiwoong was constantly by his side, quietly offering support, but there was a sadness in his eyes that Ricky couldn't ignore.

Zhang Hao, who stood at a distance, his expression unreadable, was another member who seemed deeply shaken by the accident. Ricky could sense the tension in the room whenever Zhang Hao was around, though he couldn't understand why.

Hanbin, the leader, on the other hand, had been all warmth and smiles, though Ricky could tell it was forced. Hanbin would sit by his bed, chatting about mundane things-what the other members were doing, what was going on in the world-but every conversation eventually led to stories about their time together as a group. He seemed to be desperately hoping that something, anything, would jog Ricky's memory.

Matthew was the most patient, quietly helping Ricky through the physical recovery process, but he was always there with a steady presence, never pushing, never expecting too much. Taerae would sing to him sometimes, his voice soft and soothing, as if music might reach something deeper inside Ricky's mind.

Gyuvin, Gunwook, and Yujin, the youngest members, were visibly distraught but did their best to put on brave faces around Ricky. They tried to joke with him, as if their playful banter would bring some sense of normalcy back to his fractured mind.

But none of it was working. Ricky's memories remained locked away, just out of reach, and it left him feeling more isolated than ever.

The days blurred together. Ricky spent most of his time in the hospital, with the doctors monitoring his progress and the members of ZEROBASEONE visiting him every day. They tried everything to help him remember-showing him pictures of their time together, playing him old videos of their performances, recounting stories of their shared experiences. But each attempt left Ricky feeling more frustrated.
