The studio was alive with the sound of music, the rhythmic thump of bass vibrating through the floor. Vernon, the rapper and second-youngest member of Seventeen, sat at a table surrounded by his fellow members, reviewing their lyrics for the upcoming track. It was late, much later than they had anticipated, and the caffeine-fueled excitement that had propelled them through the day was beginning to wane.

With a yawn, Vernon glanced at the mountain of empty energy drink cans stacked beside him. He had consumed far too much caffeine in a desperate attempt to stay awake for the late-night recording session. "Just a little more," he thought to himself, chugging down yet another can, feeling an initial surge of energy wash over him.

"Hey, Vern," Joshua said, looking at him with concern. "Are you sure you're okay? You've been drinking a lot of those."

"I'm fine! Just trying to keep my energy up for the recording," Vernon replied, flashing a bright smile that belied the jitters building in his stomach. "Let's get this done!"

As they returned to recording, Vernon felt the adrenaline coursing through his veins. He pushed through the lyrics with fervor, his rap flowing effortlessly, and the others cheered him on, their voices blending into a harmonious backdrop.

However, as the clock ticked closer to midnight, the caffeine high began to fade, leaving behind a hollow sense of dread. Vernon's fingers trembled slightly, and his heart raced uncomfortably in his chest. He brushed it off, determined to push through. After all, the group was counting on him.

"Vernon!" Hoshi called out from across the room, his playful demeanor shifting into concern. "You look a little pale. Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm just tired! Let's keep going!" Vernon insisted, his voice slightly strained. He couldn't let the members down. They were all in this together, and he refused to be the weak link.

But the more they recorded, the worse Vernon felt. A wave of nausea rolled through him, and he pressed a hand to his stomach, trying to quell the unease. Each beat reverberated through his body, heightening his discomfort.

"Alright, break time!" Woozi announced, clapping his hands. "Let's take five."

Vernon stood up, hoping to shake off the jitteriness. As he stepped away from the table, his vision blurred slightly, and he felt the world tilt beneath him. He swayed, reaching out to steady himself against the wall.

"Vernon?" Seungkwan's voice was laced with alarm as he rushed to his side. "You look really sick."

"I'm fine," Vernon said, forcing a laugh that sounded hollow even to his ears. "Just a little tired."

But the moment he tried to take a step forward, the room spun, and he stumbled, collapsing onto the floor. The sound of his body hitting the ground echoed in the studio, silencing everyone.

"Vernon!" The members were instantly at his side, worry etched on their faces.

"Someone get a doctor!" DK shouted, panic rising in his voice as he crouched next to Vernon.

"Stay with us, Vern," Joshua urged, gently shaking his shoulder. "Can you hear me?"

Vernon's eyelids fluttered open, but the light was blinding, and he squeezed them shut again, breathing heavily. "I... I'm okay," he murmured, but the words were weak and shaky.

"Yeah? Then why are you sweating like crazy?" Hoshi asked, concern lacing his voice. He felt Vernon's forehead and grimaced. "You're burning up! This isn't just tiredness."

"Too much caffeine..." Vernon managed to mumble, feeling embarrassed. "I didn't mean to..."

"You should've told us!" Seungkwan said, his voice a mix of frustration and worry. "We could've helped you!"

"Guys, I'm really sorry. I thought I could handle it..." Vernon's voice trailed off, guilt flooding his thoughts. He hated worrying the members, hated being a burden.

"Hey, it's okay. We're here for you, alright?" DK reassured him, stroking his hair back gently. "We'll get you through this. Just breathe."

Vernon nodded slightly, feeling the warmth of his friends surrounding him, their presence grounding him even as he battled nausea. Joshua and Seungkwan helped him sit up, leaning against the wall.

"Let's get some water in you," Joshua said, rushing off to grab a bottle from the fridge. He returned, quickly unscrewing the cap and holding it to Vernon's lips.

"Drink slowly," Seungkwan instructed, his voice soothing. "You need to hydrate."

Vernon took small sips, wincing at the taste, but he forced it down. The cool liquid felt nice against his throat, even as the dizziness lingered.

"Do you want us to call a doctor?" Hoshi asked gently, his expression softening.

"I don't want to be a bother..." Vernon whispered, feeling ashamed.

"You're not a bother," Woozi said firmly. "Your health is more important than any recording session. We can always reschedule."

"Yeah," DK added, nodding vigorously. "We'd rather take care of you than push through without you. You mean too much to us."

Vernon's heart swelled with gratitude as he met their concerned gazes. He felt the warmth of their friendship envelop him, and for the first time that night, he allowed himself to lean into it. "Okay. Maybe I need a doctor," he admitted reluctantly.

"Good choice," Seungkwan smiled, relief flooding his features. "We're going to take care of you, I promise."

As they waited for medical assistance, the members settled around Vernon, forming a protective circle. They shared stories, trying to lift his spirits, reminding him of their shared memories, laughter, and the importance of taking care of one another in their fast-paced lifestyle.

"Remember that time we got lost in the city?" Hoshi began, grinning widely. "Vernon was convinced we were going to starve to death because we couldn't find a restaurant!"

"And we ended up at that weird noodle place?" Joshua chimed in. "You almost cried because you thought they wouldn't understand your order!"

Laughter erupted, the tension in the room easing as Vernon joined in, a small smile breaking through his discomfort. The stories continued, weaving a tapestry of camaraderie and love that reminded him he wasn't alone in this journey.

Finally, the doctor arrived, and after a brief examination, he confirmed that Vernon was experiencing caffeine overload and dehydration. They provided him with IV fluids and instructions to rest for the night.

"Don't worry, we'll take care of everything," DK promised, patting Vernon's shoulder as he started to feel a little better.

After the doctor left, Vernon leaned back against the wall, exhaustion washing over him. "I'm really sorry, guys. I didn't mean to worry you."

"Just promise us you'll take care of yourself next time," Woozi replied gently. "We need you to be healthy, especially if we want to continue making music together."

"Yeah," Seungkwan added with a soft smile. "We're a team, remember? No one gets left behind."

Vernon nodded, his heart swelling with gratitude for his friends. In that moment, he understood the importance of self-care and the support system they had built together. No matter how busy life got, he knew he could rely on them to keep him grounded.

As the night wore on, the atmosphere shifted from worry to warmth, and Vernon felt his spirits lift. With the love of his members surrounding him, he knew he would bounce back stronger, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
