Jiwoong, the charismatic eldest of ZEROBASEONE, was no stranger to chaos. With a relentless schedule packed with practice sessions, interviews, and fan meetings, he found himself juggling a whirlwind of commitments every day. While his energy often seemed boundless, it came at a cost. Jiwoong had always possessed a fast metabolism, and his hectic lifestyle led him to skip meals or grab snacks in between rigorous training.
"Let's go, Jiwoong-hyung! We're gonna be late for practice!" Hanbin called out from the living room, his voice echoing through the dorm.
"Coming!" Jiwoong replied, quickly throwing on his shoes. He had already skipped breakfast that morning, but the thought of food felt secondary to the responsibility he carried as the leader. As long as he kept pushing through, everything would be fine, right?
Days turned into weeks, and Jiwoong's relentless pace continued. Despite his cheerful demeanor, the signs of malnutrition began to creep in. He started feeling weak and fatigued, but he brushed it off, attributing it to a busy schedule. The others noticed his gradual change in energy, but Jiwoong always assured them he was fine.
"Are you sure you're okay, Jiwoong-hyung?" Zhang Hao asked one evening after practice. They had been running through their choreography for hours, and Jiwoong's movements had become sluggish.
"Yeah, just tired," Jiwoong replied, forcing a smile. "I'll catch up on sleep tonight."
Yet, sleep didn't come easily. The following morning, he woke up with a sore throat and a slight cough, which he again dismissed. It was just a minor cold—nothing he couldn't handle.
As weeks passed, Jiwoong's condition worsened. The sore throat transformed into frequent colds, each leaving him more drained than the last. He struggled to keep his spirits high, but the fatigue was taking its toll on his mental health. During a practice session, he felt the familiar sense of weakness wash over him, but he pushed through, determined not to let his members down.
"Keep it up, Jiwoong-hyung! You're doing great!" Taerae cheered, his encouragement boosting Jiwoong's spirits momentarily.
"Thanks, Taerae," he said, though his voice was barely above a whisper. The room spun around him as he focused on the choreography, his body becoming heavier with each passing minute.
During one particularly gruelling practice, Jiwoong felt a wave of dizziness wash over him. The lights seemed brighter, the music louder, and his limbs felt like lead. He tried to shake it off, but his vision blurred, and the world tilted dangerously.
"Hyung!" Gunwook shouted, concern lacing his voice as he caught Jiwoong just before he fell.
"Get him some water!" Yujin yelled, rushing over as the others crowded around him.
"Jiwoong-hyung, can you hear me?" Hanbin asked, panic evident in his tone.
"I— I'm fine," Jiwoong mumbled, but his words were weak and barely audible. He felt the darkness creeping in, the last thing he saw before everything faded away was the worried faces of his members.
When Jiwoong finally regained consciousness, he found himself in the dorm, lying on the couch with a cold cloth on his forehead. The familiar voices of his members surrounded him.
"Thank goodness you're awake!" Gyuvin exclaimed, relief flooding his features.
"What happened?" Jiwoong croaked, trying to sit up, but Hanbin gently pushed him back down.
"Just rest, Hyung. You fainted during practice," he said, his voice steady yet filled with concern.
"We called a doctor," Matthew added, his tone serious. "You need to see them."
