Jeongin tugged his coat tighter around his body, feeling the biting wind cut through the fabric like needles. Stray Kids had been enjoying a rare break after their overseas promotional event, and the members decided to go sightseeing in the small town surrounding their hotel. It was supposed to be a day of relaxation, a momentary escape from the pressures of their hectic schedule. But the chill in the air was relentless, and as they explored the quaint streets, Jeongin found himself lagging behind.

“Hyung, wait up!” he called out to Seungmin, who was snapping photos of a historic church with Chan and Changbin. His voice, usually full of warmth and laughter, was barely heard over the howling wind. He took a few more steps, but the cold gnawed at his fingers and toes, and his head began to ache.

He turned to glance at Felix and Hyunjin, who were laughing at something, completely immersed in their conversation. Jeongin smiled softly, trying to fight the gnawing feeling that something was off. Maybe it was the cold that had settled deep in his bones, or maybe it was just the fatigue from their schedule catching up to him. Either way, he shook his head, trying to shrug it off. They were together; nothing bad could happen.

“Let’s grab some hot chocolate before we head back,” Chan suggested, his Australian accent cutting through the chilly air. “Jeongin, you okay back there?”

Jeongin blinked, momentarily pulled out of his daze. He nodded, offering his leader a small smile. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just cold.”

“Don’t wander off,” Changbin warned with a grin. “We don’t want to lose our maknae.”

Jeongin laughed softly, but the feeling of unease didn’t go away. He shoved his hands deeper into his pockets and quickened his pace to catch up with the group. They were just about to head to a small café when Jeongin felt a firm hand grab his arm.

Startled, he spun around to find himself face-to-face with a man he didn’t recognize—tall, bundled in a heavy coat, with a face obscured by a scarf. Before Jeongin could react, another hand clamped over his mouth, and he was roughly dragged into a side alley. Panic surged through him as he tried to scream, but his voice was muffled. The last thing he saw before his vision blurred was the distant figures of his hyungs, unaware that their youngest member was being pulled into the shadows.

Hours had passed since Jeongin had been taken. His kidnappers had driven him far from the bustling town, into the wilderness where the temperature plummeted. They hadn’t said much, only muttered in a language Jeongin didn’t understand. His wrists were bound tightly with rough rope, and he was shoved into a small, dilapidated cabin.

The walls of the cabin offered no insulation from the cold. There was no heater, no blankets—just frigid air that crept in through the cracks in the walls. Jeongin’s breath fogged in the air, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably. His thin jacket did little to ward off the freezing temperatures, and soon, the cold settled into his bones.

“Please… help me,” he whispered to no one. His kidnappers had left him alone, locking the door from the outside. He curled up on the icy floor, trying to make himself as small as possible to conserve heat, but it was futile. The cabin was a prison, and the cold was relentless.

His mind raced with a million questions. Why him? What did they want? Would his members find him in time? He closed his eyes, trying to think of his hyungs—their laughter, their smiles. He could picture Chan ruffling his hair, Changbin teasing him about being the baby of the group, Felix offering him one of his warm hugs. But those images were quickly replaced by the harsh reality of his situation.

The cold gnawed at him, a persistent, painful ache that made it hard to focus. His thoughts became sluggish, and his body began to feel heavier. He knew enough about survival to understand what was happening—hypothermia. His body was losing heat faster than it could produce it. If they didn’t find him soon…
