The arena buzzed with excitement as fans filled the seats, eager to see 82MAJOR take the stage. The lights dimmed, and a hush fell over the crowd, only to be shattered moments later by the roaring cheers of thousands of voices. Seongbin stood backstage, feeling the energy pulsate through the walls. He loved this part-the anticipation, the thrill of performing, and the undeniable connection with their fans.
Yet beneath the surface, he felt a familiar tension. Seongbin had always been sensitive to bright lights, a fact that made performances challenging, especially when strobe effects were involved. He could feel his heart racing as he stepped into the spotlight, the dazzling lights reflecting off the polished floor, blinding him momentarily.
"Are you ready, 82MAJOR?" Seongil shouted, his voice booming over the loud cheers. The members rallied together, hands in the center, hearts synchronized.
"Always!" they shouted in unison.
The music started, and the beat dropped like a hammer. Seongbin fell into the rhythm, letting the melody guide him. He focused on the choreography, pushing through the sharp pangs in his temples that began to creep in. Each movement became a dance of determination, his passion igniting with every verse.
As the song progressed, the strobe lights began to flash in sync with the beat, each burst of light piercing through the dim ambiance. Seongbin's heart raced, and the pressure in his head intensified with every pulse of light. He swallowed hard, trying to ignore the rising nausea. He had faced this before-he could handle it.
He glanced at Seongil, who gave him a reassuring nod, and for a moment, Seongbin felt a surge of confidence. But as the chorus hit, the strobe lights became more aggressive, each flash a dagger slicing through his concentration.
"Keep going, keep going!" he whispered to himself, determined not to let his pain show. The fans were here to see them, and he refused to let them down. The roar of the crowd spurred him on, masking the storm brewing in his head.
But as the performance continued, the pain became unbearable. It was like a vice tightening around his skull, and every flash of light sent waves of nausea crashing over him. Seongmo and Seokjoon noticed his faltering movements, exchanging worried glances, but they were too far into the performance to intervene.
With one final push, the song came to an end. The crowd erupted into cheers, but for Seongbin, the noise became a cacophony of confusion. He felt disoriented as he stumbled off the stage, the lights dimming as he stepped backstage.
"Seongbin-hyung!" Dogyun exclaimed, rushing over as he saw the strained expression on his face. "Are you okay?"
But the words came out garbled; Seongbin struggled to find his voice. He pressed a hand to his temple, the throbbing pain making it hard to think. The lights had dimmed, yet they still burned in his eyes, like fire scorching his skin.
"Just... a headache," he managed to whisper, but he knew he was lying. He could feel the world around him blurring, the edges of reality fading as his knees buckled beneath him.
"Seongbin!" Seongil shouted as he rushed forward, catching Seongbin just as he collapsed, his body going limp.
Panic surged through the group as they gathered around Seongbin. "What happened?!" Yechan exclaimed, kneeling beside them.
"He's burning up!" Seokjoon said, his eyes wide with concern.
"Get him some water!" Dogyun instructed, his voice steady despite the panic in his chest. He held Seongbin's head in his lap, trying to keep him comfortable as they assessed the situation.
"Stay with us, Seongbin," Seongil said, shaking him gently. "Can you hear me?"
Seongbin's eyes fluttered open, but the pain was overwhelming. "Can't... can't talk," he mumbled, the words barely escaping his lips.
