Renjun's hand stung as he did a part of the choreography that involved floor movements in the practice room, a sudden sharp pain interrupting the smooth motion of his hand. He looked down to see a large cut on the side of his palm, a faint line of red already forming. Nearby, he noticed a small shard of glass—probably from one of the water bottles that had accidentally shattered earlier. With a sigh, he wiped the tiny drop of blood on his sleeve. "Just a scratch," he muttered, brushing it off.

There was always so much going on, especially with their schedules packed with rehearsals, music show appearances, and promotions. No time to fuss over small cuts.

But as the next few days wore on, the cut didn't heal quite as quickly as he'd expected. The skin around it began to feel tight and a bit sore, but Renjun ignored it, too focused on getting each step right in rehearsals and perfecting his vocals for their latest track. Every time he flexed his fingers, a sharp pain shot through his hand, but he kept going. After all, everyone had their own struggles, and he didn't want to make a big deal out of something so minor.

But by the fourth day, the pain was no longer subtle. Renjun had resorted to hiding his hand behind his back when the others were around, clenching his teeth every time he used it. When Jaemin tossed him a water bottle, he almost dropped it from the sudden jolt of pain.

"Renjun-hyung, are you okay?" Jaemin asked, brows furrowing as he noticed Renjun's grip slacken for a split second.

"Yeah, just a little tired," Renjun replied quickly, plastering on a smile. But as he twisted the cap off, the movement sent another spike of pain through his palm.

Still, he waved it off. He'd been through worse, and it was just a cut, right?

That night, Renjun tossed and turned, unable to get comfortable as the pain in his hand throbbed relentlessly. Giving up on sleep, he flicked on the light and looked at his hand. The skin around the cut was swollen and red, the faint line of infection creeping along his palm. He knew he'd probably left it alone too long, but he hated making the others worry. They already had so much on their plates.

When morning finally arrived, he gritted his teeth, deciding he could make it through just one more day of rehearsals before bothering anyone. But his resolve began to waver as they started to practice the choreography for their upcoming performance. Every lift and movement made his hand feel like it was on fire.

Jeno caught Renjun flinching when he placed his hand on the floor to balance himself. "Are you sure you're okay? You've been really quiet."

"I'm fine," Renjun replied a bit too quickly. He pushed himself back up, trying to act as if nothing was wrong, but his face betrayed him, and the others weren't buying it.

"Renjun-ah, let me see your hand," Mark said suddenly, his voice filled with quiet authority.

Renjun hesitated, instinctively curling his hand into a fist. But the sharp pain in his palm was enough to convince him. Slowly, he extended his hand, trying to play it off as no big deal.

Jaemin's eyes widened as he took in the sight. "Renjun-hyung, that looks really bad! Why didn't you say anything?"

Renjun tried to brush it off, even as the others crowded around, worry etched across their faces. "It's nothing, just a little cut. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it."

Haechan scoffed, shaking his head. "A little cut? It looks like it's infected, Hyung! Why didn't you just say something earlier?"

Feeling slightly embarrassed, Renjun shrugged. "I didn't think it was that serious..."

Jisung reached over and gently touched Renjun's wrist, giving him a sympathetic look. "Come on, we're taking you to a doctor. You shouldn't be ignoring stuff like this."

Renjun wanted to protest, but the concern on their faces stopped him. He felt a strange warmth at the way they all rallied around him, fussing over his hand. Mark placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, his expression soft. "You don't have to handle everything by yourself, you know. We're here for you."

At the doctor's office, Renjun sat nervously, the others nearby offering silent support. When the doctor examined his hand, Renjun winced as she gently prodded around the swollen area.

"You've got a mild infection here," she said. "It's not too serious, but it needs to be treated properly. I'll prescribe some antibiotics, and you should keep it wrapped up and avoid using that hand as much as possible for a few days."

Renjun's heart sank at her last words. "I can't stop using my hand...we have so much going on."

The doctor gave him a reassuring smile. "If you take care of it now, it'll heal faster. Otherwise, you could risk a more serious infection, and that would take even longer to recover from."

Renjun sighed, nodding reluctantly. The members, however, looked relieved.

As they left the clinic, Haechan nudged him with a grin. "See? If you'd told us sooner, you wouldn't have to deal with that pain for so long."

Renjun rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help smiling a little. "Yeah, yeah. Lesson learned."

Back at the dorm, Renjun felt self-conscious as the others fussed over him, insisting he rest while they took care of things. They brought him snacks, insisted he keep his hand elevated, and made sure he took his medication on time.

By the third day of forced rest, Renjun's frustration was starting to show. He hated sitting still, and he felt like he was letting everyone down by not participating in practice. But whenever he tried to move around or join in, the others wouldn't let him.

"Relax, Hyung," Jaemin said, pushing him back onto the couch with a grin. "You've earned a little break."

Jisung joined in, adding, "Yeah, just think of it as us paying you back for all the times you've helped us out."

It was true. Renjun had always been the one to look out for them, whether they were struggling with choreography or feeling homesick. Remembering those times made Renjun's heart swell, and he finally let himself relax, accepting their care.

In the evenings, they all gathered around the couch to watch movies, with the members going out of their way to make sure he was comfortable. Renjun felt a new sense of warmth and gratitude as they joked around, their laughter filling the room and chasing away his worries.

By the end of the week, Renjun's hand had started to heal, the swelling reduced and the pain fading. But even then, the others still checked in on him constantly, reminding him to be careful.

One evening, as they were relaxing after a long day, Renjun finally expressed the words that had been building up inside him.

"Thank you, guys," he said softly, looking at each of them. "I didn't realize how much I needed this...I mean, all of you."

Mark, ever the leader, gave him a gentle smile. "We're always here for you, Renjun-ah. You've always taken care of us. It's only fair that we do the same for you."

Jaemin nodded, throwing an arm around Renjun's shoulders. "Yeah! Next time, let us know if something's wrong. We don't want you hiding stuff from us, especially not when it comes to your health."

Renjun chuckled, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. "Alright, I promise. I'll come to you guys if anything like this happens again."

As they laughed and continued their evening together, Renjun realized just how much he valued their friendship. In moments of strength and in moments of vulnerability, they were a family. And he knew, no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.
