The waiting room backstage was buzzing with energy as TREASURE prepared for their upcoming radio interview. Laughter bounced off the walls, mixed with the chatter of their staff organizing last-minute details. Junghwan, the group's lead dancer, vocalist, and Maknae, was in high spirits, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to connect with their fans.
He sat on the couch, scrolling through his phone, chuckling at the comments from their latest social media post. His fingers danced over the screen, excitement bubbling inside him. His members were scattered around the room, each engrossed in their own conversations, but there was a sense of camaraderie that enveloped them.
"Hey, Junghwan, grab some water!" Hyunsuk called out from the corner, pointing to a small table filled with refreshments.
"Coming!" Junghwan replied, hopping off the couch and making his way to the table. He poured himself a glass of water but noticed a plastic water bottle sitting there, already opened and half-full. Without a second thought, he grabbed it, quenching his thirst with the cool liquid.
"What's up with the face?" Jihoon teased as he approached Junghwan. "You look like you just won the lottery."
Junghwan laughed, brushing off the compliment. "Just excited for the interview. I want to make our fans proud!"
"Just don't forget to drink some water between all that talking," Yoshi chimed in, flashing a thumbs up.
Junghwan nodded, appreciating the encouragement. He took another sip from the bottle, unaware of the dark shadow lurking just beyond the waiting area.
Moments later, they were ushered into the radio studio, the atmosphere electric. Junghwan settled into his chair, his heart racing as the host welcomed them, introducing the group to their listeners.
"Hello, TREASURE! It's great to have you here!" The host smiled, her voice warm and inviting. "Are you all ready to chat about your latest comeback?"
"Absolutely!" Junkyu exclaimed, a grin plastered on his face.
As the interview progressed, Junghwan felt an undeniable thrill. His members shone as they answered questions, their banter flowing naturally. Yet, as the minutes ticked by, Junghwan began to feel an odd sensation in his stomach—a slight discomfort that he couldn't quite place. He brushed it off, focusing on the conversation.
But then, something shifted.
Junghwan's vision began to blur, the lights in the studio flickering like stars in a stormy sky. He blinked hard, attempting to clear his head. His hands trembled, fingers unsteady on the table in front of him. He clenched them into fists, hoping to regain control, but the shaking only worsened.
"Junghwan?" Asahi's voice cut through the haze, concern etched on his face. "Are you alright?"
Junghwan forced a smile, trying to mask his growing anxiety. "I'm fine, just a little... tired."
The host turned her attention to him. "You seem a bit off, Junghwan. Are you feeling okay?"
"I'm okay," he insisted, but the words felt hollow. The room spun around him, the sound of the radio waves merging into a deafening roar. Panic gripped his chest as he fought to maintain his composure.
"Maybe we should take a short break," Jihoon suggested, worry seeping into his tone.
But before anyone could react, Junghwan's vision blackened. His heart raced, and he felt himself tipping forward, gravity pulling him down. The last thing he remembered was the startled gasps of his members before everything faded to black.
When Junghwan regained consciousness, he found himself on the floor, surrounded by the frantic faces of his members. Their expressions were a blend of fear and urgency, and for a moment, he felt disoriented, as if he had been ripped from one world and thrust into another.
