Holding up the World (Gunil)

The spotlight was blinding as Gunil took his place at the front of the stage, drumsticks poised and ready. The roar of the crowd surged through him, igniting a fire in his veins. But beneath that adrenaline was a familiar weight pressing down on his chest. As the leader of Xdinary Heroes, Gunil felt responsible for every member's well-being, and lately, that responsibility had become a burden.

It had been a hectic few weeks for the group. Between tight schedules, rehearsals, and personal issues arising among the members, Gunil found himself caught in a whirlwind of stress. The weight of their expectations, combined with his own, began to take a toll on him. He was losing sleep, his thoughts racing every night, drowning in worries about whether he was doing enough.

The music started, and Gunil's body instinctively moved with the rhythm, his hands flying over the drums. For a moment, he felt alive, forgetting the gnawing exhaustion that clung to him like a shadow. He glanced at his members-Jungsu, focused on his keys; Gaon, pouring his heart into every note on the guitar; O.de, lost in the sound of the synthesizer; Jun Han, headbanging in his element; and Jooyeon, bass thumping in time. They were all so talented, and he wanted nothing more than to protect them.

But as the performance went on, Gunil's vision blurred slightly, his limbs feeling heavier with each beat. He tried to shake off the dizziness, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to concentrate. The weight of their world felt heavier than ever, and as he played, he couldn't help but think about Gaon's recent struggles with self-doubt and Jooyeon's anxiety about an upcoming exam. He wanted to be the strong leader they all relied on, but inside, he felt like he was crumbling.

"Gunil-hyung!" Jungsu shouted during a brief pause in the song, his voice pulling Gunil back to reality. The crowd cheered, and Gunil forced a smile, pushing his worries to the back of his mind. They finished the set, but Gunil's heartbeat thundered in his ears, drowning out the applause.

As the last note echoed through the venue, Gunil felt the world tilt beneath him. A wave of nausea hit him like a freight train, and before he could process what was happening, he collapsed on stage, his drumsticks falling from his hands.

"Hyung!" The shout came from Jooyeon, who rushed forward, concern etched across his face. The other members followed suit, eyes wide with shock and fear.

"What's happening?" Gaon asked, kneeling beside Gunil. The crowd's cheers turned into gasps as they realized something was wrong.

"Call for help!" Jun Han shouted, panic creeping into his voice.

Gunil blinked slowly, trying to regain his bearings. He could see the worried faces of his members hovering above him, and the realization hit him hard. "I'm... fine," he murmured weakly, though the conviction in his voice was fading.

"Hyung, you collapsed!" O.de said, his voice filled with urgency. "You're not fine!"

As the staff rushed onto the stage, Gunil tried to sit up, but the world spun around him. "I just need a moment," he insisted, but his body disagreed, shaking as he fought to stay conscious.

"No, you need to see a doctor," Jungsu said firmly. "You've been pushing yourself too hard!"

The words struck a chord deep within Gunil. He was the leader; he was supposed to be strong. "I can't let you all down," he whispered, the weight of responsibility crashing over him like a tidal wave.

"Let us down?" Jooyeon exclaimed, voice shaking. "Hyung, you're not just our leader; you're our friend, our brother. We want you to be okay."

As they helped him up and guided him offstage, Gunil felt a mixture of embarrassment and guilt. He had always prided himself on being there for his members, but now, lying on a stretcher, he felt utterly exposed. He had wanted to be their pillar of strength, but he had ended up crumbling under the pressure.
