The late evening silence of the Seventeen dorm was occasionally broken by the soft rustling of papers and the muted hum of a laptop. In the dimly lit studio room, Woozi sat hunched over a desk, his face illuminated by the glow of his computer screen. Despite the late hour, he was deeply engrossed in the arrangement of the group's latest track, his eyes red-rimmed from lack of sleep.
The members had long since retired to their rooms, each trusting Woozi to put the finishing touches on their latest project. He had been working tirelessly for days, driven by his passion and a relentless drive to perfect every detail. The pressure of their upcoming comeback weighed heavily on him, and Woozi had willingly borne the brunt of it, determined to ensure everything was flawless.
His exhaustion was evident. The dark circles beneath his eyes spoke of countless sleepless nights, and his shoulders sagged with the weight of his fatigue. Yet, Woozi pressed on, ignoring the protests of his aching body.
As he adjusted the volume on his headphones, a sudden wave of dizziness washed over him. He blinked, trying to clear the haze from his vision, but it only worsened. The world seemed to tilt, and before he could react, his head lolled forward, and he collapsed onto the desk, the sound of his body hitting the hard surface echoing through the room.
The silence that followed was heavy and unsettling. A few moments later, the dorm's stillness was broken by the sound of the door to the studio room creaking open. Seungkwan, who had been unable to sleep due to an uneasy feeling, peered inside and immediately noticed Woozi's prone form.
"Woozi hyung!" Seungkwan's voice was a mix of alarm and concern as he rushed forward, his heart pounding. He shook Woozi's shoulder gently, but there was no response. Panic surged through him, and he quickly grabbed his phone, dialing the number of the nearest member.
The commotion soon roused the others. The dorm came alive with hurried footsteps as the members gathered in the studio room, their faces shifting from confusion to worry as they took in the scene.
"Woozi! What happened?" Joshua's voice was tinged with anxiety as he crouched beside Woozi, his hands trembling as he checked for a pulse.
"Seungkwan said he's been working nonstop," DK explained urgently, his gaze fixed on Woozi's pale face. "He must have collapsed from exhaustion."
Jeonghan, his eyes wide with concern, quickly took charge. "We need to get him to the hospital. Get him some water and a blanket. We need to keep him stable until we can get help."
The members sprang into action. Mingyu and Hoshi carefully lifted Woozi from the desk and laid him down gently on the floor. Woozi's face was ashen, and his breathing was shallow. A blanket was draped over him to provide some warmth, and Seungkwan hurriedly fetched a bottle of water, though it was clear Woozi was in no condition to drink it.
The urgency of the situation was evident in their frantic movements. They called for an ambulance, their hands shaking as they relayed their location and the nature of Woozi's condition. The minutes stretched into what felt like hours as they waited for help to arrive.
"I should have noticed sooner," Joshua said, his voice filled with guilt as he paced back and forth. "He's been working so hard, and we didn't stop him."
"It's not your fault," Jeonghan reassured him, his tone firm but gentle. "We all let this happen. We're just focusing on getting him the help he needs right now."
The sirens finally pierced the night air, and the paramedics arrived with their usual efficiency. They carefully assessed Woozi's condition, attaching monitors and preparing him for transport. The members watched in silence, their faces etched with worry and regret.
