The stage lights dimmed, and the crowd erupted into cheers as The Boyz finished their electrifying performance. Kevin felt a rush of adrenaline as he basked in the energy of the audience. It was what he lived for-the exhilaration of performing, the applause of the fans, the joy of being part of something bigger than himself.
But as the final notes faded and the members took their bows, Kevin felt a sudden wave of dizziness wash over him. He stumbled slightly, trying to shake it off, but the world spun faster. Before he knew it, darkness enveloped him, and he collapsed backstage.
The members where instantly at his side, calling for help, checking his pulse and making sure he was good. However as the ambulance arrived and they loaded Kevin onto the stretcher, all the members could feel was concern and dread.
When Kevin came to, he was lying on a hospital bed, a dull ache in his chest. Panic rose within him as he scanned the room, and he spotted his fellow members, their faces etched with worry.
"Kevin!" Younghoon exclaimed, rushing to his side. "You're awake! We were so scared!"
"Hyung, what happened?" Kevin croaked, his throat dry and scratchy.
"You fainted backstage after the encore," Jacob replied, voice trembling. "We called an ambulance, and you've been out for a while."
Kevin tried to sit up, but a wave of nausea washed over him, forcing him back down. "I'm fine. Just tired," he insisted, though he could feel the concern in their eyes.
"Not fine," Sunwoo said, crossing his arms. "You need to let the doctors check you out."
A nurse entered the room, smiling gently. "Hello, Mr Moon. I'm going to do a quick examination. Is that alright?"
Kevin nodded, feeling the warmth of his members' support surrounding him, even in his disorientation.
Hours later, after a series of tests and evaluations, Kevin sat nervously in the hospital room with the members beside him. The doctor entered with a somber expression, and Kevin's heart raced.
"Mr Moon, I have some important news to discuss with you," the doctor began. "We found something concerning during your examination. You have a serious heart condition that requires immediate attention."
"What does that mean?" Kevin asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"It means you'll need to undergo treatment, possibly including surgery, to manage your condition. We'll discuss your options in detail, but it's crucial that you take this seriously."
Kevin felt the weight of the world crashing down on him. "But I can't-what about our activities? The comeback?"
"Your health comes first," the doctor said firmly. "We can discuss a timeline once we assess your condition more thoroughly, but it's vital that you prioritize your well-being."
As the doctor explained the next steps, Kevin could see his members exchanging worried glances. He felt tears prick at his eyes, realizing how deeply this would affect them all.
After the diagnosis, Kevin was released from the hospital, but his heart felt heavy with uncertainty. The members gathered at their dorm, their usual energy replaced with a solemn atmosphere.
"What do we do now?" Eric asked, breaking the silence. "We need to support Kevin-hyung."
Kevin shook his head, frustration bubbling within him. "I don't want to be a burden. You guys have your careers to think about."
"No way!" Hyunjae interjected. "You're not a burden. We're family. We'll figure this out together."
Younghoon leaned forward, determination etched on his face. "What if we organized some fundraising events? We can raise awareness for heart health and help you get the treatment you need."
