The practice room was quiet but for the rhythmic sound of footsteps against the polished floor. Kevin, Jacob, and Eric were there for an extra practice session, just the three of them. Eric had felt off from the start of the day, a vague, creeping tiredness in his bones, but he was determined not to let it show. Being the energetic maknae was who he was, after all, and he didn't want to worry the others, especially Jacob and Kevin, who were already spending their precious spare time practicing with him.

But as the session wore on, Eric could feel himself slipping, his usual energy flagging with every move. He forced himself through it, hoping it would pass, but his mind grew foggy, his vision faintly swimming each time he spun or kicked. Kevin was going over a specific move with Jacob when he noticed Eric stop short, his hands slightly trembling by his sides, a far-off look in his eyes.

"Eric, you good?" Kevin asked, brow furrowed.

"Oh, yeah, just... spacing out," Eric replied, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Let's go again."

Kevin and Jacob exchanged a quick glance. They'd seen Eric at his best and worst, but his posture, his energy—everything about him right now seemed... off. Normally, Eric was always the one hyping everyone up, even during late-night practices. But now, he was quiet, his smile faltering every time he thought they weren't looking.

Jacob shifted closer to Kevin. "He's not himself today, right?" he murmured.

Kevin gave a small nod. "Let's keep an eye on him. If he needs a break, we can give him one without making it a big deal."

They continued to run through their routine, but each time they repeated the moves, Eric seemed to struggle more. His steps grew unsteady, his breathing labored, and by the time they neared the end, he was visibly pale, his hands shaking as he tried to force his body to cooperate.

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. Feeling both defeated and frustrated, Eric made his way over to Jacob and Kevin, a vulnerability in his eyes that they'd rarely seen.

"I don't feel good..." he admitted, voice barely a whisper. "I'm shaking, and it won't stop. I can't get the moves right, and I feel so tired even though I'm not sick. I don't know what is happening, Hyungs"

A wave of sadness and frustration filled his voice, tears welling in his eyes. Kevin and Jacob quickly moved to support him, each resting a hand on his shoulder to steady him. Eric was the type to push through, no matter what, so seeing him this way struck a chord of concern deep in both of them.

"Hey, hey, it's okay," Jacob soothed, his voice soft. "You don't have to keep going if you're not feeling well."

"Yeah, don't be so hard on yourself," Kevin added, giving him a gentle smile. "We can always come back later."

But before they could say much more, Eric's knees buckled, and he swayed, collapsing against them. Kevin and Jacob quickly moved, each of them catching him before he hit the floor.

"Eric!" Jacob's voice was laced with worry.

They managed to ease him down, propping him up and murmuring reassurances, but his eyes were unfocused, his body heavy as he slowly blinked up at them. Then, with a faint sigh, he slumped forward, unconscious.

Without hesitation, Kevin and Jacob carefully lifted him up, exchanging worried glances as they made their way back to the dorm. Jacob fished out his phone, typing quick messages to the other members to let them know what was happening.

Sangyeon, Sunwoo, and Haknyeon, who were at a movie premiere, received Jacob's message. Sangyeon, always the responsible leader, stayed in frequent contact with Jacob, checking for updates and trying to reassure the other two, even as his own mind lingered on Eric.
