Chapter 121

-Aiyana-
-Three weeks later-

Working at the bookstore at night is quite soothing. I only get to deal with customers for two hours then I close for the night and I'm locked inside. I rearrange, place returned books back and what not.

Augustus is my alibi, he seemed hesitant at first through. I also don't have to worry about being known because this bookstore is in another town about 40 minutes away from my town.

I hummed packing my bag for tonight. "Baby why do you need a blanket" Mommy asked as she placed the items in my bag. 

"Sometimes we go outside so I can communicate with the wind" I lied. I like to snuggle behind the counter reading books.

"Ah" She smiled. "You know baby, we're starting to miss you on the weekend" Mommy said sadly. My heartbroke and I felt terrible lying to them. "D-Don't worry mommy it's just for a couple of more weekends" I said.

"I know sweetheart" She said placing a kiss on my lips. She zipped up my bag.

"See you in the morning sweetheart" Mommy smiled sadly. "Y-Yeah bye Mommy" I stuttered running downstairs. I quickly said goodbye to everyone, catching eyes with Edward as he stood in a corner shaking his head. I ran to my car. As I was backing out. I saw daddy staring down at me from his study window. I waved and blew a kiss then drove off.

Walking down the halls of the hospital, seeing patient to patient was a good way to clear my mind. My beast has been itching to get out for some reason that he won't tell me why.

As I was reading a chart on my way out of orthopedics. A scent stopped me in my tracks.

"Aiyana..." I whispered. I took a deep breath, in my own personal euphoria.

I followed the scent thinking I was going to see her but instead her scent was mixed up between these two elderly women patients.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

I happened to catch their conversation.

"Why are you into reading all of a sudden, Mary?"

"Well my grandson has been going to this bookstore in the town over"

"Oh how nice he's taking up a hobby in reading"

"I wish. He's only going to the bookstore because Apparently there's a new clerk that works there so he goes and get random books in order to talk to her"

"Aw that's adorable"

"He goes on and on about her. It's like she has him bewitched"

I walked up to them. "Oh hello Dr.Cullen" They greeted. I gave them a charming smile.

"Good morning to you both" I said. "I couldn't help wonder what book were you reading. The cover look very interesting" I lied. "Oh have a closer look why don't you" She smiled handing the book over.

The book was covered with the scent I loved.

"What bookstore did you get this from?" I asked giving the book back.
