Chapter 21

Kenzie's P.O.V.

I wonder if Jc is still in Chicago. I feel. I don't know what I feel actually. Yes, Austin and I are together. No, we don't live together or anything like that. Since we are both at college, we are at the same college, different dorms. Girls and Boys. Then special rooms and roommates.

"Sooo how'd the rest of the day go with Austin?" Dani asks. "Well.. Good and Bad. What do you want first?" Justine joins us on the couch then Kayla. "Bad." I nod. "Jc was there." I watch all of their eyes widen and lips part. "Good?" Kayla blurts. "Austin and I are officially.. Dating." Their widen eyes turn back to normal and instead wide smiles. "Think you can hook me up with his brother?" Dani jokes causing us all to laugh. "I don't get what's funny. The Miller's are hot. Did you know they have a sister?"

"No.." Everyone except Dani answers. "Her name is Julie. She's like a YouTuber, she doesn't go here. She's like in California." California. Jc. Anniversary. My phone rings breaking the awkward silence. "Yello?"

"Pretty sure the color yellow isn't a greeting."

"Aussie! What's up?" Why did I even ask that? We ALL know the answer.

"Of course it is. I meant why'd you call?"

"Sure you did. What is it?"

"Nothing really! I just wanted to talk to you."

"You sound so surprised about it. Is there something you wanted me to talk to you about?"

"Well... Dani said-" Before I could finish Dani covers my mouth.

"Yup!"

Jc' P.O.V.

"You don't get it. She's probably making out with that guy while I'm here depressed as hell on our anniversary! Our ex anniversary. Right now I don't even care anymore. I don't care about her, or him. I don't care about anything." I tell Kian.

"You don't even know the guy. He is probably making Kenzie the happiest person alive. Yes, your my friend. Yes, I still am disappointed what you did with Kenzie. Yes, I am happy she moved on-" I interrupt him. "Why?" A ask, with a bit of annoyance in my tone. "You broke that plate. The plate is broken, but can be healed with glue. Glue, takes time to dry. In this case, heal. Yes, she's still hurting but she is healing at the same time."

"Gee, thanks Dr. Phil. I understood every word you just said." I say with clear sarcasm. "Translation: The plate is Kenzie, you have dropped her so now she's broken. That guy she's dating is the glue, the glue is putting that plate back together. It will take some time to dry, in this case heal. But it's still working. Get it now Mr. Castillo?" I roll my eyes. "Yes... How come you just so easily trust this Austin guy and you had a hissy fit when I tried to date her?"

"Well Justin. If she moved on from you, he must really be a great guy." I smile. "Thanks Kian. But really, we all know you hate my guts." I admit. "It's been two months. I'm pretty sure we buried the hatchet about that. Yes, I still am sorta mad at you from it but I have to work with you and I don't need anything coming in between work."

"So basically you'd hate me if we weren't in O2L?" He nods mixed with a shake of the head. "Not completely true. I wouldn't hate you like "Don't even think about me or your dead." But "I can't believe you." Mad. Make sense?" I bite my bottom lip. "Sorta."

"Guess what Justin?" This is about to be really deep if he called me my birth name. I raise my eyebrows. "She may have moved on but I still think she has a special place in her heart for you. You asshole." I laugh. "That's the best I'm gonna get. Isn't it?" He nods. "Pretty much bud! Say on Saturday we do a video together."

"Even better, a vlog. We're in Chicago why not do a vlog? A vlog about love. We could just roam the streets and asks couples questions." He nods. "Sounds great!"

Kenzie's P.O.V.

"Aussie! I love it. Thank you!" I thank Austin. "Your welcome Kenz. I was thinking.. Maybe we could just walk around tomorrow? With her. On the streets." I smile and look into his eyes. "Of course I will. Thanks again for the puppy. She's adorable!" I kiss him then the puppy. "What should we name her?"

"Kustin." Dani jokingly remarks. "Ew. It sounds like custard. What about... Prissy." He laughs. "That's too... Girly. I mean, what about Princess?" I smile down at the baby husky. "Princess it is." It's like having a child! I just want to hug her to death. "Let me hold her." Austin interrupts my baby talk. "You know, it is a puppy. Puppies walk. They have 4 legs. Use them." Kayla jokes. "Very funny! She can't even see yet.. Well she can but not a lot. No way I'm putting her down." Austin remarks, taking Princess from my arms replacing it in his. "Your so protective." Justine joins. "I have to be." He smiles at me then to the puppy. That's just what I wanna hear! I don't want a protective boyfriend! It's gonna be Kian and Jc all over again. This time he didn't do it for a bet.

I should get over the bet but I'm hurt. I'm hurt to know that he never even loved me.

**Flashback**

"I want you to stop this. I will do anything and everything for you to stop this, I will quit my collab channel. I need you to get well, I don't want you to get well I need you to. And you can't do that by not eating, so when I leave. Promise me you eat, promise me you will get better.. Promise me whatever the 'fans' say, ignore them. Good or bad, because they'll turn worse somehow. Promise me you won't miss me-" I cut him off. "I can't promise you that" Jc smiles and gives me a kiss.

What if he did love me? What if this is a mistake? What if I did the wrong thing? What if.. What if I was wrong this whole time?
