It was 2017 and Carlos was doing better than ever. He had told himself and Fernando that if he reached the podium, he would propose to you.

You had no idea. Carlos had asked you to come to his races. Begged even. You just supposed it was because he could use some support. That too, though. But he was just waiting for the right moment. And that meant you had to be there whenever it would happen.

-

He had done it! Carlos reached third place on the podium! You couldn't even describe how proud you were of your boyfriend. He had always dreamed of this, and now it finally happened.

That evening, Carlos took you out for dinner in an Italian restaurant, seeing as you loved Italian food so much. After dinner, the two of you got ready for the party he and some other drivers were throwing. You were wearing a gorgeous tight, black dress that fell around your knees. You curled your hair and put on your make-up. Once you were ready, you spun around in front of the mirror of your room. You looked good.

Carlos walked into the room and seemed to be struggling with the tie that hung hopelessly around his neck. He sighed and made his way over to you.

"What would you do without me Carlos?" You said, winking at him.

"I would be miserable. You look amazing, corazón."

"Why thank you guapo. There, all done. You look quite handsome yourself, I must say."

"Shall we go downstairs then?"

"Sure! Let me just..." you said before walking over towards the kitchen table where your clutch was, "alright! I'm ready."

The party was a lot of fun, all your friends and Carlos' good friends and family members were there as well, surprisingly. The venue was perfect and so were the foods and drinks that were being served all night.

"Enjoying yourself?" Lost in thought, you were surprised to hear Fernando's voice.

"Hey Nando! I love it."

"Great." He said, sending you a smirk and then walked away.

That was weird, you thought. You were too lost in thoughts to notice that everyone in the room had been acting weird for a while. You just figured it was because of Carlos' first podium place.

"Can I have your attention please, everyone?" You suddenly heard Carlos' voice in the microphone. When you turned around, you saw that he was - again - standing on a stage with the microphone in his hand. You made your way over to him so you could hear (and admire) him better. Damn, he really did look good.

"Ah, (y/n), come up here, mi vida."

You blushed, not sure whether it was because of Carlos' choice of words or you being shy in front of big crowds.

"First of all, I would like to thank you all for coming today. I couldn't have done this without your support my friends. Muchas gracias," Carlos turned towards you, "today is a special day, mi amor."

You nodded enthusiastically. You thought that he was talking about his win earlier today.

"When we met, it was love at first sight. At first, my family and friends were reluctant in accepting you into our family. But you proved them wrong nena, like you surprise me every day as well. You really are something special. I would have never thought to find someone as perfect as you, and yet here we are. I love you with all my heart, and I want to ask you the most important question of my life,"

Carlos paused, grabbed something out of his pocket and went down on one knee.

You placed a hand in front of your mouth. Was this really happening?

"(Y/n), Mi corazón, will you marry me?"

You couldn't help the tears from streaming down your cheeks, "yes, of course I will," You managed to choke out."

You threw yourself into Carlos' arms. You were beyond happy. Distancing yourself a little to look Carlos on the eyes you saw that he was tearing up a little as well. He kissed you passionately.

"You just made me the happiest man on earth."

Your moment of happiness was soon disturbed by Fernando looking smug as ever.

"So," he started. You and Carlos both raised your eyebrows suspiciously "when am I going to be a granddad?" He asked, tearing up.

"Jesus Nando, can you not?"

"Please tell me you are going to name the kid after me."

"Nando!" You both laughed out.

Looking at each other, you both giggled and wrapped your arms around eachother.

"Te amo, (y/n) Sainz."
