In the nightmare that's what the other sides looked like, only all of them darker and more sinister, and Virgil is just normal Virgil.

T.W. Panic attack, nightmares, crying, hate.

Virgil had always suffered with nightmares. He wasn't sure why, but he did.

He tried to be relaxed before bed, he tried talking to Patton, but nothing seemed to help him.

They just kept coming back and he had had enough.

He knew they weren't real, but he couldn't help but have them, no amount of Logic could stop him from having them.

He made sure he never passed the anxiety he got from the nightmares onto his host. He would often lay awake, trying to keep himself together, hoping he kept the anxiety to himself and that Thomas was not affected by it.

One night, he wasn't so successful.

He woke up drenched in sweat, his hair was a matted mess, his heart rate was racing and his breathing was short and fast. He knew he was about to have an anxiety attack, and he wouldn't be able to protect Thomas from it this time.

He slipped into the no talking stage of his attack, his hands were shaking and he couldn't move from the ball he had curled himself into.

He heard Patton and Roman go to help their host. He hadn't heard Logan yet, however, Logan was a heavy sleeper, so it was possible he had slept through it.

But who was he kidding, Virgil knew Logan was awake, Logan was usually the one to help Thomas wake up from the nightmare and get Patton to calm him down from the panic attack that occasionally slipped through Virgil's fingers. Tonight, he though Logan must have gone past and he wasn't aware.

Logan watched as Patton and Roman went to help Thomas, he knew there was only one trait that caused this.

The logical trait went and knocked on the anxious trait's door. He heard a small whimper and sobs from inside, and instead of waiting for an answer allowing him to come in, he just walked in, knowing that if he didn't, Virgil would only get worse, making it that much harder for Patton to calm down their host.

"Virg...?" The logical trait noticed a small lump in the middle of the bed and sat on the edge of said bed, hoping Virgil would notice him and allow him to help.

Virgil felt the bed dip next to him, he wasn't sure who it was, but he didn't care, they were probably there to yell at him.

The logical trait removed the blankets that were covering the small trait. "Virg?"

Said trait curled in on himself further. Logan frowned, and rested a hand on the small ball of a trait.

Virgil flinched at the contact and felt his breathing worsen.

"No, no, Virg, I want to help" Logan tried to talk to the panicking trait calmly and soothingly.

Virgil realised who it was and allowed them to get closer to him.

Logan pulled the small panicking trait closer to him, eventually having him end up on his lap, the anxious trait latched onto the smarter trait, crying into the shirt of the trait he had held onto.

Logan ran his fingers through Virgil's hair and massaged his scalp gently, allowing the younger trait to relax slightly.

Virgil had slowly calmed down and his breathing had returned to normal.

He looked up at Logan, who pushed his glasses up slightly. "Do you wish to converse about the nightmare?"

Virgil shrugged and tried to answer, but soon realised, with all the crying he had been through, he would not be able to speak for a while.

Logan, noticing Virgil's state, gave him time to collect himself, figuratively.

"y-you h-hated me" Virgil finally got out.

"I did?"

"y-you and Ro-Roman a-and Dad" His voice still shaking and breaking from the panic attack.

"Virg... I don't... we don't... we could never hate you." Logan stumbled over his words, unsure of how to help the younger trait.

"You told me I was doing a bad job, I wasn't beneficial to Thomas, you said I was useless and stupid and I wasn't needed. You all hated me, you became my anxiety. You depicted the voices in my head."

Logan looked at the younger trait, seeing the tears fall down his face caused the logical traits heart to, metaphorically, break. His eyes filled with tears and he pulled the anxious trait closer to him.

"We would never do or say anything to hurt you intentionally. We all care about you so much. We all love you."

Virgil looked up at the older trait, fear evident in his eyes. "You do? You're not just saying that?"

Logan nodded and cupped Virgil's face, wiping away the tears that had fallen. "I would never lie to you about that."

Virgil searched his face and nodded, "okay"

Logan, not moving away from Virgil, searched his face, his eyes settling on the younger's eyes.

Virgil's breath hitched in his throat as he realised the closeness of the two. He bit his lip nervously.

Logan's eyes flicked down to his lips, Virgil nodded giving him permission.

The two came together in a short, albeit loving kiss.

Virgil was the first to pull away, his cheeks heating up.

Logan smiled at the smaller trait, and kissed his cheek, "I love you Virgil, and I wish to help you with your nightmares. Whether I sleep with you, or you come to me to help you with the aftermath of the nightmare, I wish to be there to help you."

Virgil smiled, "I'd like that" he whispered.

Logan pulled the smaller trait closer and laid them both down, allowing Virgil to latch himself onto the elder trait and fall asleep, help in the loving embrace of the logical trait.

The next morning, Patton went to Virgil's room to tell his dark strange son breakfast was ready, only to find the logical and anxious trait asleep, cuddling each other.

He smiled to himself, and took a few pictures, running to show Roman and to claim his pay from the bet the two had made.

From then on, Virgil would always turn to Logan whenever he suffered from a panic attack or a nightmare.
