Edited: I put the lyrics in italics.

T.W. angst, sadness, death.

"You have to tell him you need to talk, it is the only way to make it go somewhere, and for you to actually talk to him." Logan spoke to Patton, advising him on his friendship with Roman.

Step one you say we need to talk

"Tell him to sit, it's just a talk, it's it like you're trying to murder him or something." Logan let out a small chuckle, causing Patton to smile at his friend.

"I'm nervous." He spoke in a small voice.

"I know."

He walks, you say sit down, it's just a talk

Roman sat in front of Patton, worried about the conversation, had he done something wrong? He smiled at his friend, although the fear was evident in his eyes. Patton just looked at him, no emotion on his face.

He smiles politely back at you, you stare politely right on through.

Patton spoke, and somehow, whenever the conversations went askew, he still was able to talk to Roman, and he blames himself, for everything, he didn't know what to do, he was scared, he couldn't talk to him, and it was scary.

Some sort of window to your right, as he goes left and you stay right, between the lines of fear and blame, you begin to wonder why you came.

Patton spoke to Roman, trying to get him to understand, to get him to realise he shouldn't blame himself, it wasn't his fault.

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend, somewhere along in the bitterness.

"I should have stayed with him all night, it was what I promised, and I let him down, I let you down." Patton spoke, tears in his eyes, and his voice became more and more strained.

And I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life.

"Don't try to convince me otherwise, I know what I did and didn't do, it's not you that is to blame, it's me." He tried to stop Roman from blaming himself, get him to listen, but he wouldn't.

Let him know that you know best, after all you do know best, try to slip past his defense without granting innocence.

Patton spoke, and told him everything that had slipped past them all, everything that they hadn't seen, the bad things, how depressed he was.

Lay down a list of what is wrong.

"I told you. You didn't listen." Roman spoke.

"I know, I was wrong, but I couldn't help it. I didn't want to see the bad."

Things you've told him all along, And pray to God he hears you, And I pray to God he hears you.

Both males were crying, they couldn't help it, they knew they'd gone wrong, they were both to blame, and they'd ignored the warning signs, ignored what had happened.

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend somewhere along in the bitterness, and I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life.

"It's not you, stop saying it was you, I know it was me!"

Patton got annoyed, but tried to keep cool, he knew Roman would have blamed himself, but he couldn't help it, he stayed calm despite the words being spoken by Roman.

He begins to raise his voice, you lower yours and grant him one last choice.

"Roman, I was wrong, I saw this, and I stayed away, I was scared, and I couldn't help, I left him to suffer, you were at least there."

Drive until you lose the road, or break with the ones you followed.

"I guess you're right."

He will do one of two things, he will admit to everything or hell say he's just not the same and you'll begin to wonder why you came.

Patton watched Roman, and wondered why he was still there, why hadn't he left?

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend somewhere along in the bitterness, and I would have stayed up all night had I known how to save a life.

"I could have saved his life." Patton broke down in his boyfriend's arms.

"Patton, you did all you could, you weren't to have known." Logan spoke.

"I didn't, I ignored his pain, he called me, countless times, and I ignored it, thought that it could have waited until the morning, I would have stayed up all night, had I known how to save a life." He cried, and Logan held him close, letting him cry into his shirt.
