Possible Trigger Warning: mentions of blood, germs and OCD
Logan was sick, and Roman hated it.
Most people would put Logan as the Germophobe due to how often he insists on things being perfect, and clean, however, he didn't mind about the germs as much as Roman did.
Roman couldn't stand it.
He could feel them crawling all over his skin if he didn't wash his hands three times after going to the bathroom, or he would turn and leave any room if someone coughed or sneezed into their hand or without covering their mouth at all. He insisted on all surfaces being sanitized three times before he would sit and eat, or before he would sit there.
His room was immaculate, he couldn't stand the idea of it being a mess, his toothbrush sat in a tub, so it didn't touch anything else.
He would wash his body and hair three times in the shower, just to ensure he was clean enough, sometimes he would scrub so hard, his skin would go red, and sometimes bleed. His hands were constantly dry, and cracked. He refused to use the soap any other trait used, and if they, by accident, used his, he would never use it again.
It's fair to say, he was rather obsessed with cleanliness.
So when Logan sneezed for the 10th time that day, Roman was concerned, but also a little grossed out. Despite Logan knowing Roman's ways, and he tried to conform to his needs, he still slipped up, and this last sneeze, he covered his mouth with his hands, resulting in Roman cringing and moving away slightly. It hurt Logan, but he tried to keep it hidden.
Roman immediately pulled out his hand sanitizer and used it, three times. He left the room, coming back with a new bottle of disinfectant spray for the room. And when he sat back down, he was sat even further away from Logan.
Logan was sick, and he needed his boyfriend for cuddles, and it, for lack of a better word, sucked. He felt so miserable, and when Virgil and Patton came in and sat opposite them, cuddling, it made Logan feel worse.
Roman watched the other two males, and internally cringed at how they could stand to be so close together, without being grossed out.
Roman, despite being the "romantic" side, he never wished to be touchy-feely.
Logan knew he signed up for this, when becoming Roman's boyfriend, and he loved him and never wished to push him out of his boundaries, but it was hard, and Logan occasionally, very rarely, wished for a non germophobic boyfriend, one that would cuddle with him, hug him, dance around the room, and kiss him.
He wanted to know what being kissed was like, he wanted to know what it was like without his boyfriend running off to clean out his mouth right afterwards. He wanted to hold hands, without his boyfriend having to wash them afterwards. He wanted cuddles. And most of all, right now, he wanted someone to look after him, to make sure he was okay, to be close to him, and not look disgusted when he sneezed, or coughed. He couldn't help being sick, just like Roman couldn't help being a Germophobe, but it still hurt. He hated it. He wanted different, but he wouldn't ever change Roman, he had a way to make Logan feel special without touching him, to make him feel loved, even if it meant they were a slight distance apart. There was just something about Roman that Logan was attracted to, and he wouldn't change it, not for the world.
Roman felt guilty, he wanted to change, he wanted to be with Logan, but the idea of physical contact and germs repulsed him. He couldn't stand it. He wanted to go against himself, and every day was a constant battle against his phobia. He tried to ignore it, but he made it worse. He once went a day without washing his hands three times, and without asking for the counters to be disinfected, and he even got physical with Logan, but by the end of the day, he felt sick. Not like he was about to throw up, but he could feel the germs, he could see them, he scrubbed so hard, his skin turned bright red, he scratched himself and made himself bleed. He wouldn't do it again, but, as he looked back, it was the best day he had with Logan, he was a better boyfriend, he helped Logan, and he made sure he was okay. He wished to be a better boyfriend, but he was stuck with his phobia, and it was awful.
As he sat a fair distance away from his boyfriend, he saw how sick he was, how much he needed his boyfriend, and how he needed comfort.
Roman watched his boyfriend shift, and try to get comfortable, and try to warm up.
Something inside of him snapped, he couldn't do this, not to Logan, not to the man he loved more than anything.
He got up and went to the kitchen, and made Logan some soup, admittedly, he did wash his hands 3 times, and the pan three times, and he even washed the side multiple times, but he set about making some soup, getting some water and some pain medication, just to help his boyfriend.
In the background, he could hear the beginning of Big Hero 6 playing, and the occasional cough and sneeze of his boyfriend.
He finally finished the soup, ignoring the dirty pot, his boyfriend was more important in that moment, although, he did go back and clean it later on.
He set the soup down in front of his boyfriend, who looked up at him, surprised, before smiling and silently thanking him.
Taking a deep breath, he pressed a kiss to Logan's forehead, and although it was internally painful, he didn't run off to wash himself, he just sat behind Logan, and wrapped his arms around the logical traits waist, resting his head on his boyfriend's shoulder.
Logan, although confused, cherished the moment, for they were few and far between.
And so what if Roman spent an hour cleaning himself in the shower that evening, so what if he made himself red and sore? He made his boyfriend happy, and admittedly, the comfort from his boyfriend, helped Logan feel slightly better, so in the end, it was worth it.
