Roman and Patton were walking around a large toy store.

It had many things for everyone.

But the one thing that stuck in their minds, was the Disney Princess section.

Patton was alone, after Roman had gone off to look for a bathroom, and he noticed a young boy looking around.

He seemed to like the Disney Princess area, especially the little kitchen they had there.

He wanted to play with it, badly, and it made Patton sad to see the little boy wanting to play with something, but he wasn't allowed.

Every time the little boy went over to the play kitchen, his mum, Patton guessed, always told him to come away, it's a girl's toy.

This made Patton angry, there shouldn't be such a thing as "girl's toys" and "boy's toys." Anyone should be able to play with whatever they want, and what did it matter if he was made fun of? He was a little kid, he should be allowed to have fun.

As Patton stood watching the little boy, he found himself wanting to say something to the parent.

The boy went over to something else that was decorated by Disney Princesses, and his mum told him to stop playing with girl's toys, and that's all it took for Patton to snap.

"How do you know it's a girl's toy? How do you know it matters? He doesn't care what gender the toy is typically made for, he just wants to play, and if you're denying him that fact, then you have no right to be a parent, he should be allowed to play with whatever he wants to play with, he has the right to be himself, and he clearly isn't bothered by the fact that he is male and that's a "female" toy. So what does it matter to you? Does it embarrass you knowing your son could be gay, or transgender or anything? Does it bother you that he could enjoy "female" things? What difference does it make? Its 2018, get over it. When are people going to stop bothering with gendering things? It's a toy, and if he wants to play with it, let him. Boys can like "girl's" things and girls can like "boy's" things, its life, and you can't control that, all you're going to do is drive him away from you."

At this point, Roman had come back, and looking back, it would make Patton laugh, because he went on at a woman about something he went through as a child, and it played out the way he knew it would for the little boy, but when Roman wrapped his arm around Patton's waist, the woman had an unreadable look on her face. She seemed angry, but had a look of realization on her face.

No one else had paid them any attention in the store, so it was okay, but Roman was clearly confused by what had just happened, however asking now would restart the entire situation and cause more anger.

Roman pressed a short kiss to Patton's temple and the woman sent them a look of disgust.

"Go be gay somewhere private!" She hissed.

"No. I have the right to love whoever I want, and if I'm comfortable with my sexuality that I can show it off in public, I'm allowed. Now if you're not comfortable with your sexuality, that's not my problem, but you do not have the right to tell me where I can and cannot show my love. That's like being in a gay parade and a straight couple are kissing, and I tell them to go be straight somewhere else. The world isn't heterosexual, there are homosexual people and you have to learn that. You don't have to accept it, but you can't tell someone to go and be gay somewhere else, it's pathetic, and one day, you'll say the wrong thing to the wrong person, and you'll regret it. So get over it, or keep it to yourself, because you can't control these things." Patton replied, angrily.

The woman never replied to Patton the second time, she knew she'd lose. She just told her boy that they were leaving, and as they did, the little boy turned back to Patton and sent him a smile, almost thanking him.

That evening, as Patton and Roman were sat watching a Disney movie, Roman turned to Patton and asked him what happened earlier.

Patton explained everything, including what he said before Roman arrived.

Roman found himself smiling, and feeling a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, proud at what his boyfriend had done.

Roman pressed a short kiss to Patton's lips, and when he pulled away, made sure he told Patton he was proud of him.

Patton smiled, but it soon turned into a frown, "when will we stop this kind of stuff? Its life, we can't control who we are, we are who we are and it isn't fair that people tell us to be someone else."

"I don't know Puppy. We will always have someone telling us we are wrong, but we keep our heads high, and don't' let them drag up down, we are who we are, and we are allowed to be us, no one can make us change."

Patton smiled and leaned into Roman, "I love you."

Roman pressed a kiss to Patton's head, and told him he loved him too.

The two of them sat in silence for the rest of the movie, curled up against one another, soon falling asleep happy and content.

So part of this happened to me yesterday, when I was at work, and it infuriated me and I wanted to say something, but I didn't have the guts to, so I thought I'd turn it into something like this.

And I may or may not have told -Satan_- about what happened.

ANYWAY,
Hope you enjoyed it.
Take care
Xx
