T.W. Slight negativity
Patton wasn't feeling like himself.
He hadn't felt like himself for a while. He didn't like who he was.
Words tore him down, he felt too big, he had expectations to live up to, the dad, the perfect boyfriend. He didn't like himself. He didn't like who he was. He couldn't help it.
Despite Roman telling him how much he meant, Patton couldn't help but dislike himself.
One evening, he had shut himself away, he tried to be there for the others, but it didn't matter how much he did, they kept going on and on, and he couldn't take it, they were driving him insane. He hated it.
He couldn't stop the tears from falling, he couldn't stop the ache in his chest.
He knew he was loved. But not by himself.
He felt the arms around his waist, the words in his ear, and comfort he felt with the other male.
"Darling, Open your eyes, You are not made up of those words that hurt you. Or that number on the scale. Or the expectations you feel you'll never meet. You are made up of nothing more than you. Simply, beautiful, wonderfully, uniquely you. You are a lovely and complex soul. An individually fascinating combination of thoughts, ideas, feelings, emotions. No other is as beautiful as you. Look past the mirror. Look at your soul. Only then you will see yourself as you truly are. Beautiful. So smile and don't forget to love yourself."
Patton turned to Roman, a sad smile on his face, tears of happiness replacing the ones from before, the ache had dulled to a fluttery feeling, taking him back to when he first realised how he felt about Roman.
The latter pressed a short kiss to his boyfriends lips, letting him know how loved he was.
As they pulled away Roma whispered, "I don't care how long it takes, or however many times I have to tell you, you are perfect, you are enough, you don't need to change, you have limits, but so does everyone, and you need time for you, don't live up to everyone else's standards, live up to your own. Be you, take care of yourself, put yourself first. I love you and I will always help you."
"Ro, thank you" he smiled and leaned into the embrace of the fanciful trait.
The two sat on the floor of Patton's room for a while, before moving to the bed, falling asleep, content in each other's arms.
