Patton was shy.
Most people thought he was a loud, outgoing person, but when it came to one particular person, he was never able to say anything, and he became a shy, blushing mess.
Patton sat next to said person a lot during a regular school day, and he would often never say anything or turn to his friend Virgil and talk to him, well, when he wasn't talking to his boyfriend.
On the days where Virgil was talking to his boyfriend, Patton was left alone to think about how he was going to talk to the male he likes.
One lunch, after an extremely awkward class, Virgil, Patton and Roman were sat talking and eating their lunch, when Logan walked over.
Virgil sent Patton a glance and noticed how nervous the other seemed.
Virgil went back to playing with his and Roman's fingers as Logan took a seat next to Patton.
Logan took a deep breath, and said "since you and I are partners on this project for science, would you like to maybe go to the local coffee shop and work on it, maybe at 6?
Patton nodded, unable to find his voice, as the case often was around Logan.
Logan sent him a small smile and left to go to the library.
Patton turned back to the other two, clearly embarrassed about what had happened.
"It's like a date." Roman said in a hushed tone across the table to Patton, who in return shrugged.
"No you doof, its school work." Virgil replied.
"Study date." Patton compromised, even though he was more on Virgil's side.
Roman rolled his eyes in mock hurt from his boyfriend's remark, however grinned when he pressed a kiss to his cheek.
Patton smiled to himself at how cute the other two were, and he recalled how Virgil was before he'd spoken to Roman about his feelings.
"Pat, I can't do it."
"Yes you can Virg, I believe in you. It's obvious he likes you too, you can do it."
Patton gave him a gentle shove in Roman's direction, and Virgil rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
He cleared his throat, hoping Roman heard, he didn't know what to say so opted to say nothing until he had Roman's attention.
Roman turned around, and grinned upon seeing the younger, smaller male.
"Hey Virgil!"
"Heyyy..." he dragged out his greeting, evidently nervous.
"Before you say anything I have something to ask you."
"Okay?"
"I am heading to the coffee shop later, and I don't wish to go alone, would you like to accompany me?"
Roman wasn't going to the coffee shop, but he wasn't sure how to ask out Virgil in a way that wouldn't make him too anxious.
The other male nodded, unable to find his words.
"Great, I'll meet you there at 7?"
"Sure..."
"What did you wish to say?"
"O-oh, I uhm... kind of like you a lot."
"I do too, that's why I asked you out."
"Oh right of course. Sorry."
