Feelings are tricky things.
They tell you how to feel about a specific person. Whether you like or dislike them, and how you feel about yourself.
They are complicated, and you just can't seem to understand them.
They can confuse the smartest of people, and be clear as day to the dumbest people.
They determine your outlook on life.
Which is why it came as no surprise to Virgil, when he found out how Roman felt towards him.
They royal trait went to Virgil one day, and was evidently nervous about bring in his presence.
Virgil sat on his bed, waiting for the Prince-like trait to talk.
Roman fiddled with his sash, he was confused, and why was he so nervous? It's just Virgil, nothing was new. They were friends, it would be okay. Right?
"You okay there Princey?"
"hmm... yeah, sure, I'm great." He said without his usual enthusiasm.
"Dude..."
"I'm okay Virgil, I'm just... unsure."
"About?"
"Feelings."
"Why are you here then?"
"Because, I think I may like you."
"As a friend?"
"No."
"Then how?"
"More than that."
"Like like?"
"Yeah... I guess."
"Oh..."
The two settled into a silence.
"Roman..."
Roman turned to Virgil, and he felt his heart drop in his chest, before the words left his mouth, he knew he didn't feel the same, he knew he shouldn't have said anything.
"I don't..."
"I know. I'm sorry I said anything." He turned and left immediately.
"Roman..." Virgil tried, but it was too late, Roman had left, and Virgil felt a heavy weight on his chest. He hurt his friend and he wasn't okay.
A few days went past, and Roman stayed away from Virgil.
Virgil hurt and he didn't know what to do.
He liked Roman, but only as a friend.
Roman hurt, because of that very reason, he couldn't face Virgil and he didn't want to hurt him.
He was sure he'd made it difficult for the darker trait.
Virgil asked Patton for help, but he didn't do anything really, it was difficult for Virgil to figure out what to do, he was so closed in on himself, and his thoughts were overpowering him.
He knew Valentine's Day was fast approaching and he knew Roman was sure to do something, it didn't matter what Virgil said, it would be done anyway. Patton and Logan would be off somewhere doing who knows what, so it would leave Virgil and Roman alone, which was a recipe for disaster.
The day soon rolled around, much to Virgil's dismay, it came too quickly and he wished it wouldn't.
He knew he wouldn't be able to hide away in his room, and he knew the other sides, which made things much more difficult.
