"Do I look alright?" I stopped the car as we pulled into the parking space looking across at Ruby.

"You look stunning." She didn't look convinced, unbuckling her seatbelt cautiously. "Honestly, mum and dad will love you."

"Are you sure? I feel like they aren't going to like me." I placed my hand on her thigh, squeezing it reassuringly. "I'm not exactly the most conventional person in the world."

"Rubes, you're panicking over nothing it's just my parents, they aren't going to hate you, you make me happy, how could they hate you?" I opened the door, making sure Ruby did the same. "Trust me."

I knocked on the door, waiting a few seconds before my mum opened the door.

"Y/N it's so good to see you." Mum came out hugging me. "And Ruby, it's so nice to finally meet you." She let go of me and hugged Ruby straight after.

"It's so lovely to meet you too," Ruby whispered. She looked at me from resting on my mum's shoulder.

"Told you," I whispered, knowing my
mother would never hear me.

"Shut up," she mouthed, shaking her head at me, leaving my mum unaware of her previous feelings.
