What better way to keep people out than to wear a mask
We tell ourselves to play our part
Because it's easier this way
Atleast, that's what we tell ourselves
"It's easier to do it alone"
To not have to talk about it
To keep it bottled up
Because it keeps us safe
Because if people can't remove our masks, then we can't get hurt
Because it hurts more if someone leaves after they've seen behind it
It hurts more knowing you showed them who you were, and they leftBut sometimes wearing the mask isn't as good as we make it out to be
Because once it's on us, once it's really on, sometimes we forget how to take it off
It's stuck.
And no matter what we do, we can't take it offIt can do more harm than good
But I guess it all depends on what we're willing to risk...Relationships, friendships, joy?
How much are you willing to give?Because the mask is easy to put on, but what do we do when it becomes impossible to take off?
Are you willing to risk it?
Will it be you or the mask?
Choose wisely
