TW cursing

Sat Nov 7

Virgil slowly ate an omelette and coffee Janus bought him. He didn't like that Janus had spent money on him. He offered to pay him back, but Janus refused.

"Just eat your fucking omelette, Emo," Janus muttered.

They sat there for a couple of hours waiting for the others to return. Virgil chewed on the skin around his nails until one of his fingers started bleeding. He hated all of this waiting around they were doing. Eventually, Remus texted them. Patton had returned back to the library. Everyone met back at the student center, Remus dragging Patton along.

"Patton!"

"What happened?"

"Is everything okay?"

Patton looked at everyone confused.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he said.

"Why didn't you pick up the phone?" Logan asked.

"I put it on 'do not disturb' I didn't know you were calling," he explained.

"Okay, but we were looking for you everywhere! We spent two hours walking around!" Roman exclaimed. "Where were you?!"

"Oh," Patton rubbed the back of his head curly head sheepishly. "I was getting a little stressed so I took a walk around town. Sorry, I probably should have said something."

"Is that why I heard crying from your room?" Virgil asked hesitantly.

Patton froze.

"Oh... y-yeah."

"Patton, you don't have to hide your negative emotions from us," Logan said.

"We're your friends! We care about you," Thomas said.

"Yeah! You wouldn't like it if we hid our negative emotions from you!" Janus said.

"You made me promise to talk to you if something was bothering me. I think the same should go for you!" Virgil said.

"Thanks guys, but I'm fine, really!" Patton said as he plastered a smile on his face that didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Are you sure?" Logan asked.

Patton nodded.

"Yes, I'm fine! I'm sorry I had you guys so worried about me! I promise I'll let you guys know the next time I get stressed out about school."

"If you're really this stressed, perhaps we could... do something to help?" Logan asked a little flustered.

Patton smiled.

"Are you asking me on another date Logan?"

Logan turned away blushing.

"Awww! You two are so cute!" Thomas squealed.

"Spare me the details," Logan snapped.

"What did you have in mind?" Patton asked.

Logan glanced at the others before leading Patton away.

"Do you really think it's just stress bothering him?" Virgil asked.

"What do you mean?" Joan asked.

"He's just been a little off ever since break. Obviously something is bothering him, but I can't figure out what it is."

"Maybe he just doesn't feel comfortable telling us?" Roman suggested.

"So you just want to let this keep going?!" Virgil snapped.

"No! Gosh! I hate this as much as you do! He's my friend, too!" Roman said.
