TW depression, mention of self-harm, mention of suicide

Thurs Feb 25

Virgil really wasn't feeling today. He wanted nothing more than to just crawl back into bed and forget the world existed. He felt empty and he wanted to just crawl in a hole and die. But he couldn't exactly disappear off the face of the Earth. Logan had made sure he took the stupid pills again, but it wasn't like they really did much. He knew it'd take time before they took effect, but he just hated the weight of hopelessness in his stomach dragging him down.

Virgil really didn't feel like talking much today. It wasn't much of a problem until his painting class with Remy. He forgot how extroverted Remy was until he walked into the room and they spoke to him.

"Hey, Bitch! How's it going?"

Virgil hesitated before continuing to walk forward and taking a seat. Virgil cleared his throat in an attempt to get his voice to work again.

"Um... n-not bad."

"Oh, no, Babe. That doesn't seem right. You sure you're okay?"

Virgil just nodded as he tried to set up his stuff for class.

"You can talk to me if you want to or I can talk to Patton. I'm sure he'd be willing to help."

"I just... don't want to talk right now."

"Oh, that's fine. Is it okay if I still talk to you?"

Virgil nodded.

"Alright cool! Did you still want me to talk to Patton? I know you're closer to him than me."

Virgil shook his head.

"I'm fine."

"Babe, I get you don't me well, but I can tell when something's up. You don't have to talk to me, but you should probably talk to someone."

Virgil turned to his painting as he went over what Remy said. He knew they were right and he did promise he'd talk to his friends when he was upset, but he was sure his problems were getting old by now. He didn't even know how to explain his problems. They didn't even make any sense. Besides, he didn't really feel like talking right now.

"I'll um... I-I'll talk to him later."

Remy just nodded as they went to their own work. They mostly worked in silence throughout class. Remy would talk from time to time and Virgil would nod to show he was at least listening.

Near the end of class, Remy started telling a story. Virgil was only really half paying attention though. Remy walked with him after class and continued talking to him. They ended up stopping in the student center and continuing to talk.

"Oh, hey, Remy!" Patton said as he walked by.

"Oh! Hey, Babe!" Remy said as they gave Patton a hug. "Just dropping off one of your little kiddos from class. I think he might need to talk to you though."

Virgil glared at Remy and noticed Patton frown.

"What's wrong?" Patton asked.

"I don't know," Remy shrugged before walking away. "See you later, Babes."

Patton glanced at Remy walking away before turning to Virgil.

"Virgil?"

Virgil shrunk away and sat down. Patton sat down next to him.

"What's wrong?" Patton asked.

"N-nothing. I'm fine."

Patton clearly didn't believe him. He stared at him until Virgil relented. Eventually, he sighed and shrugged.
