TW mention of suicide, cursing

Tues Feb 16

Virgil still wasn't feeling great when he woke up, but it wasn't as bad as yesterday. He had hoped sleeping would help fix his mood, but no. He still felt a little empty inside. He didn't want to go to class today, but Patton and Thomas refused to let him skip. They dragged him to tennis and walked him to geology afterwards. He wasn't sure if they were afraid he was going to kill himself or skip class. He guessed it didn't matter. No one met him after geology though so he assumed it was the latter.

He sat down at his desk in his painting class and got his stuff situated for class.

"Hey, Bitch!" Remy said as they sat down. "What do you think of my hair?"

Virgil looked up and noticed Remy's hair was a cobalt blue that faded into a silver. Remy had it parted aggressively to the side with a pair of sunglasses resting on top of their head.

"It looks good. When did you dye it?"

"This weekend! I went with my boyfriend. I told him he should dye his hair too, but he didn't want to. He said he preferred his natural hair. It is pretty cute. You should meet him!"

"Oh... uh... maybe another time," Virgil said nervously.

"I didn't mean today," Remy laughed. "I think you'd like him. He's kind of a chill Patton. It might be why they get along so well."

"Oh, maybe."

"Oh, speaking of boyfriends," Remy said. "Have you ever met Patton's? Patton talks about him but I've never actually met him."

"Do you plan on giving him the same talk as Roman?"

"All of my friends' partners need to learn that hurting my babies isn't good for them. I mean it. If Roman ever hurts your little heart I'll kick his ass."

"I appreciate it, but I don't think he will. He's really sweet."

Remy smiled.

"Aww, look at you blushing! You really like him!"

"Yeah... I guess."

Virgil hated how much his face was heating up. But he couldn't help it. He did like Roman.

"You guess? Babe, you are in love and it is adorable."

"Whatever," Virgil muttered.

Class began and they went over color theory and mixing before getting started on actually painting. It was kind of fun. He didn't wear a lot of color, but there was a sort of beauty in colors themselves. How they blended and worked together. The richness in the difference or similarities of colors. There was just something about them that made them interesting.

He spent the rest of class just focusing on his work. After class, he went to Spanish and found Roman already seated.

"Hey! You feeling any better?" Roman asked as Virgil walked up to him.

Virgil shrugged as he sat down.

"I guess. I don't know why it was so bad yesterday. There wasn't a trigger or anything. It was just an awful day."

Roman shrugged.

"Maybe you just don't know what it was? But hey, we all have bad days. We're here to help you through them."

"I don't need some cheesy movie quote."

"It's not a movie quote!"

"Whatever you say, Princey."

"You just don't appreciate my motivational speeches."

"Damn right! That was the lamest speech I ever heard!"

"You know what? How about-"

Right then the professor stated it was time for class to begin.

"This isn't over!" Roman hissed.

Virgil rolled his eyes and smirked. He decided to doodle in his notes again today. He didn't really feel like putting much effort into it though, so he just shaded the margins of his paper. After class, he and Roman started walking to the student center. Roman grabbed him and pulled him close, hugging him from behind.

"What are you doing?" Virgil asked looking over his shoulder.

"I told you it wasn't over. I could tickle you right now," Roman teased.

"Don't you dare!"

"I don't know. It's tempting!"

"Tickling me because I called your speech lame? That's low. Even for you."

"Well, how about a kiss?"

"A kiss?"

Roman spun him around to face him and placed a hand on his cheek.

"A kiss," he said softly.

Virgil blushed.

"I-I... um... I guess that's okay," Virgil said awkwardly.

Roman chuckled and leaned into a kiss. Virgil's heart raced as Roman's lips brushed his own.

"See, I'm not too lame," Roman said quietly as he pulled away.

"I suppose not," Virgil said quietly as he brushed his bangs into his face to try to hide. He was sure his face was a burning hot mess. He was glad his foundation hid most of it, but he was sure it still showed.

Virgil's phone buzzed. He pulled out his phone and noticed a message from Patton. He unlocked his phone and read the message.

"Patton wants to know if we're joining everyone for lunch," Virgil said.

"Ooh. Yeah, I could eat."

"Okay. We could go for lunch."

They set their stuff down in the student center with everyone else's and walked to the student center. They found almost everyone but Logan there. Logan usually ate lunch earlier since he had a break in classes and his classes usually ran later than everyone else's.

Roman and Virgil went off to make their plates before joining the others.

"Don't you have something better to do?" Virgil heard Janus ask as he got back to the others.

"Not really," Remus said as he mashed his food together.

"You're disgusting," Janus said with a look of horror at the mess on Remus' plate.

"Eh, it's all going to the same place."

"Can I switch seats with someone, please?"

"Yeah, I'll switch with you," Patton sighed.

The two stood up and switched seats. Janus ending up sitting next to Virgil. He decided to ignore their conversation while he focused on his plate. He wasn't usually too hungry, but today wasn't as bad as yesterday. He still couldn't understand why everything felt so wrong yesterday. He couldn't think of a trigger for it, so he wasn't sure what what wrong. But did depression really need a reason to ruin a day? No. He didn't like not being to blame it on something concrete. Something he could avoid or overcome to prevent a future mishap. No, this was just something he had and couldn't get away from. This was a ticking time bomb that could go off again at any moment and he wasn't sure how to stop it.

Maybe he should talk to May about it? That was the whole reason he was in therapy, right? To try to solve these issues. Yeah, he'd figure it out.
