TW cursing, homophobia
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Virgil groaned as he sat up. He saw Logan sliding out of bed from across the room. He heard him rummage around for a little bit before cursing.
"Dammit," he muttered.
"What?" Virgil asked.
"I just found another egg."
"You're still finding eggs?"
Logan groaned as he walked over to his desk.
"So far I've found seven."
"I think he might have hidden a whole dozen."
"It'd make sense, I guess."
Logan ran his fingers through his hair before walking back to his closet. He grabbed some clothes and a towel and walked to the bathroom.
Virgil looked at the time. It was eight in the morning. He should probably shower too, but he didn't feel like dealing with how to shower with a cast so early in the morning. He got dressed and went to the bathroom. He was doing his makeup when Logan joined him. He combed his hair and brushed his teeth. He adjusted his tie before leaving the bathroom. Virgil was afraid to use foundation since it could get in the cuts on his face, so he just went with eye shadow today.
He joined Logan in the hall. He was already carrying his and Virgil's bags. Logan gave him a small smile before they started walking to class.
"So, Pocket Protector," Virgil said, "what class do you have this morning?"
Logan frowned slightly.
"I have a public speaking course."
"Gross."
"It is just talking, I don't see how that can be in any way 'gross.'"
"Talking to people is a nightmare."
"Ah. I guess I can see your aversion to such a course. However, with my career choice, I must know how to make my point."
Virgil stopped walking. Logan turned to look at him confused.
"But it isn't your choice."
Logan's eyes shifted slightly and he tightened his grip around his bag.
"That may be true, but it is the career I'm studying for."
Virgil shook his head as he started walking again.
"I guess I don't understand why you're spending all of these years in school just to do something you don't want to do! If it doesn't make you happy, then why do it?"
"Happiness doesn't always guarantee success."
"That's just your parents talking! You said I could be an artist when I said I couldn't. Are you telling me that was a lie?"
Logan stopped, shocked.
"No! I meant what I said! It could very well work out for you if you dedicate yourself to your craft."
"So why can't you do what you want to do?"
"My parents have a set idea of what success looks like. They've instilled this idea in me since I was a child. I can't just... change. They want me to study to become a lawyer, marry a nice girl, and have a family of my own." He sighed. "I've never thought of disobeying what they asked of me. Even if I don't want it for myself."
