TW mention of violence, Remus, cursing
Thurs Jan 28
Beep.
Beep.
Virgil turned off the alarm and groaned. Or he at least tried to. His voice seemed to die as it left his lips leaving a pathetic sound he could only try to pass off as a groan. His throat was sore and dry and his nose felt all crusty. He hated everything right now. Why was being sick a thing? Sickness was disgusting and deserved to die. Whoever invented sickness should be shot and set on fire.
He rolled out of bed and got ready for class. He met with Patton and Thomas in the hall and they walked together. How Patton was always so cheery so early in the morning Virgil will never know. Virgil didn't like talking early in the morning, but now he wasn't sure if he could talk. He didn't even want to try. He hated being in an athletic course when he was sick. He could almost swear his body wanted him to cough up one of his lungs. Eventually, the professor just told him to go take care of himself and not let anyone else get sick. Virgil wasn't used to skipping class, last time it was an accident, but if the professor asked him to what could he say?
He decided to just sit outside of his geology class and work on homework for a bit before class. He had his laptop out working on his graphic design project when the previous class started leaving. He put away his laptop and waited for them to empty the room before walking in. He wasn't usually the first to arrive, but he didn't mind having the room to himself for a bit. He pulled out his laptop again and continued his work. He was actually kind of having fun with graphic design.
He had to put his laptop away once class started and just resorted to taking notes and doodling a little in the margins. Afterward, he went to his painting class. They were going over the color grid today. As fun as black and white painting is, Virgil liked to have at least a little bit of color in his work sometimes. Painting was probably his favorite class so far. Sadly, it had to end at some point. He ended up going to the registrar's office to pick up the forms to drop the class. He wrote a note on his phone and showed it to the front desk. They helped him get the papers and he went to the student center to fill them out. He checked his syllabus to find his professor's open office hours. He had to wait another hour before his professor was available so he decided to get a tea and continue his homework.
"Oh, hey, Emo! You're not in your room!" Remus said as he sat down. "What's the occasion? You actually miss us?"
Virgil sighed and opened a blank document before typing his response and showing it to Remus.
I'm waiting for my astronomy professor to be available so I can get him to sign a form. He isn't available until 2.
"What kind of form?"
Virgil pointed to the form sitting on the table. Remus looked it over and hummed questioningly.
"You're dropping the class?" Virgil nodded. "I thought you and Logan were taking the class together. Does he know you're dropping?"
Virgil typed on his laptop again.
He helped convince me I should. He thinks I should drop now before it gets too stressful and my grade drops.
"As long as you're sure. Astronomy seems kind of boring anyway. I don't know why you took that class in the first place. I mean I get supporting friends and all but taking a class like that just to support them? No thanks. I'm not that close to anyone."
Virgil smirked. Remus wasn't all that close to most of them but he and Janus were always up to something.
What about Janus?
