Sat Nov 14

Virgil groaned as he face-planted on the bed. He had just gotten back from a doctor's appointment to check on his leg. It was healing nicely, but they thought he should keep the cast on for at least another month. He was already so sick of having a broken leg! He was sick of his stupid crutches! He couldn't wait to throw them out of the nearest window.

"You okay, Emo?" he heard Roman say from behind him.

Virgil just groaned in response.

"The doctors think he should wear the cast for at least another month and as you can see, he's not thrilled," Logan said from his desk.

He felt Roman sit down next to where he was laying.

"Aw, cheer up! Do you want to go to that pizza place your dad used to take you to?" Roman asked rubbing Virgil's back.

"We get pizza every week!" Virgil said turning his head to talk.

"What about Chinese then?"

Virgil turned over so he was on his side facing Roman.

"Chinese?"

"Yeah," Roman said with a slight shrug. "We can try someplace new. Just the two of us? It's been a while since our last date."

"If you're buying," Virgil said.

"Is that a yes?"

Virgil shrugged.

"I guess."

Roman jumped up.

"It's a date then!" Roman said excitedly before leaving the room.

Virgil heard Logan snicker. He looked up to see Logan holding his hand over his mouth.

"What are you laughing at Pocket Protector?"

"You and Roman, I thought that was obvious."

"Oh! Shut up!"

"That's not very nice," Patton said from the doorway.

They both turned to look at him.

"He's teasing me!" Virgil said indignantly.

"He and Roman are going on another date," Logan said turning back to his book.

"Roman told me," Patton said. "Did you want help getting ready again?"

Virgil's face heated up as Logan snickered again.

"No, I can manage," Virgil muttered.

"Okay, just let me know if you need anything," Patton said before leaving.

Patton closed the door behind him leaving Logan and Virgil alone in the room. He looked at Logan sitting at his desk reading and back at the door. He couldn't help but think about his conversation with Logan last night.

"Are you going to talk to Patton about your family?" Virgil asked quietly.

"What do you mean?" Logan asked looking up from his book.

"You just seem to have a lot of concerns about them. If you want to build a relationship with Patton, don't you think he should know about them?"

Logan thumbed through the pages of his book while he thought about what Virgil said.

"He already feels insecure about us thanks to Hannah. I don't want him to think my concern is his fault."

"I think he'll understand and confiding in him might help him realize you trust him. It also might make it easier for him to talk to you about what's troubling him? I just feel like if it concerns him, he should know about it."

Logan bit his lip as he stared at his hand. Virgil shifted so he was sitting up in his bed to get more comfortable while he waited for Logan to respond. Logan sighed.

"I suppose... you might be right."

"You also said communication is important the other day-"

"I already said you're right!"

Virgil help up his hands.

"Okay! Okay! Geez!"

Logan stared at his book for a minute before sighing and standing up.

"Wait, you're talking to him now?!"

"The longer I dwell on this the more likely I am to change my mind." Logan paused with his hands on the doorknob. He turned back to look at Virgil. "Would you... be willing to help me? You're the only person I've told about all of this."

"And you want me to sit with you while you talk to Patton?"

"I'd feel a little more comfortable if you were there," Logan said sheepishly.

Virgil leaned back on his bed sighing.

"Yeah, whatever. Fine."

He heard the door open.

"What's going on?" he heard Patton ask as the door closed again.

He heard them move over and sit down on Logan's bed.

"Virgil thinks I should talk to you about something," Logan said slowly.

"'Sup?" Virgil raised his hand and let it fall back into the bed.

"Is everything okay?!"

"Yeah, well- I mean... it's nothing serious... it's just-"

"Geez, Logan! You're scaring him!" Virgil said as he propped himself up on his elbows. "He just wants to talk about his parents, right?"

Logan took a deep breath and nodded.

"Oh, what about them?" Patton asked turning to face him.

Logan glanced at Virgil, who gave him a thumb's up before plopping down on the bed again to stare at the ceiling.

"We were talking about how... um..." Logan sighed. "Patton, I really like you and I wish I could introduce you to my family as more than just a friend someday. I've been talking to Virgil about how difficult it is to meet all of their expectations sometimes and how... it... hurts not being able to do what I want."

Virgil turned to look at the two on the bed. Patton pulled Logan into a hug.

"I'm sorry, Logan! If this is all too hard on you-"

"No, you misunderstand," Logan said pulling out of the hug. He put his hands on Patton's shoulders. "You make me happy. I've never really... felt much of anything in my life before I met you. All of you guys have made an impact on my life, but you especially make me... feel something." Logan slowly removed his hands from Patton's shoulders placing them in his lap. "What hurts is that I can't share this with my family. I want them to like you."

Patton gently grabbed Logan's hands giving him a small smile.

"Does this mean you want to keep trying?" Patton asked hesitantly.

Logan stared at their hands for a few minutes before smiling.

"Yeah, I think so... Yeah. I want to keep trying. I want to see where this goes."

"Does that mean you want to make it official?" Patton asked hesitantly.

Logan nodded slowly.

"Yeah, I think so."

Patton squealed and hugged Logan knocking him over.

"Aww, congratulations," Virgil said.

They both jumped and turned to look at him.

"I forgot you were here," Logan muttered.

Virgil laughed as he grabbed the cling-wrap from his desk.

"I'm going to take a shower. You two enjoy your moment."
