Spring Break Part 4

TW anxiety, arguing, panic attack

Wed March 17

It was a nice quiet day. The twins ended up making breakfast this morning and Patton cleaned up afterward. They decided to head out to the lake again for a bit. Remus immediately jumped into the water before pulling Roman in. Virgil hung back as he watched some of the others splash around. He made sure to watch the others move around to see how deep the water was. It seemed okay for the most part but the twins didn't seem to touch the ground towards the end of the dock which made him nervous. They all seemed fine though.

Patton kept the others from throwing him in which he appreciated. Logan came out a few hours later asking if they wanted lunch. They took a break for a time to eat lunch before Patton decided to watch a movie with Thomas and the others.

Roman dragged Virgil out to the dock again after the movie to just enjoy some peace. He leaned his head on Roman's shoulder as he looked out at the water watching it ripple slightly with the breeze. They were both quietly chatting when thundering footsteps rumbled the dock. Virgil turned back in time to see Remus throw Roman into the water. Roman popped his head up and glared at him.

"Remus!" Roman whined. "Can't you let me have some time alone with my boyfriend!"

"Did you want us to bring you your boyfriend?" Remus asked.

"Don't you dare!" Virgil said scrambling away from the edge.

Remus caught him and Virgil struggled to get away.

"Come on! You're the only one we haven't gotten yet!"

"What about Logan and Joan?"

"We got Joan yesterday. You missed it," Janus smirked.

"We'll get Logan too. Just wait!"

"Patton said I'm off-limits."

"Patton's watching another movie!"

"No! Remus, I can't-"

It was too late. He felt the wind rush past his ears as he was thrown into the water screaming. He felt his body sink until his feet touched the bottom of the lake. He kicked off the ground but his head didn't break the surface. Virgil felt his chest tighten as he tried to figure out what to do. He tried to scramble his way up but he wasn't sure which way was up anymore.

He was vaguely aware of movement around him. He felt something wrap around him. He screamed but only bubbles followed him as he was dragged away. He squirmed as he tried to get away from whatever was pulling him before they broke the surface. He coughed as he was dragged back to the shore.

"Holy shit! Are you okay?" Janus asked.

"Back off!" Roman yelled breathlessly.

"Look I- I didn't-" Remus seemed at a loss for words.

"Just... go get a towel or something," Roman muttered.

"R-Roman," Virgil tried as he sat up. He felt bad watching him and Remus fight, "I'm-"

"It's fine, Virgil," Roman said.

"Look, I'm sorry, I didn't know!" Remus tried again.

"He asked you to stop! You always go too far! Why can't you learn to back off sometimes?" Roman yelled.

"I didn't know he couldn't swim!" Remus said.

"That doesn't matter!"

"What's going on?" Logan asked. They all turned to look at him as he approached. He paused for a second as he took in the sight before him. "What happened?"
