Mon March 22

Virgil wasn't sure what to do with himself after class. He walked with Roman to his class before going to the student center and getting himself a coffee to help him wake up, not that it really helped. A part of him still felt as if he should show up to his next class, but graphic design was over now. He didn't have any other classes today. He had the rest of the day to just get his work done. He opened his geology textbook and pulled out paper for notes.

As he read, he realized he could probably go for lunch later if he wanted. He had plenty of time and he no longer had a class at noon. He could easily get himself a meal. Virgil thought it over as he continued reading. He didn't entirely feel like it, but he decided it wasn't a bad idea to get food. He waited until he was tired of reading before getting up. It was a good break from his work. He left his stuff at the table and walked to the dining hall.

He got himself a sandwich and fries and found a corner to sit in. He scrolled through Tumblr while he ate. He ate slowly since he was so absorbed in his phone. He didn't feel like he needed to rush or anything anyway since he had nothing else to do today. He guessed he could try filling out some applications later today after getting some of his work done.

His phone went off and he found a text from Janus. He opened his phone and looked at the message.

Where are you?

Virgil sighed before responding.

The dining hall.

You're eating lunch?

What else would I be doing?

I don't fucking know! I found your stuff in the student center and you aren't here. I thought maybe you decided to do something stupid.

Virgil tapped his fingers on the table as he read over the text. He had forgotten his little late-night talk with Logan a few weeks ago. Did Janus still not trust him to be alone? He felt fine and the others didn't seem to be worried. At least they didn't show it.

I'm fine, Janus. I'm just eating lunch. I got a sandwich. I'll be back in the student center when I'm done.

I'll be here.

Virgil stared at the conversation before turning off his phone and focusing on his sandwich again. He decided he shouldn't delay much longer or he'd worry Janus. He finished his food and took his dishes to the counter before grabbing a cookie with a napkin and leaving. He walked back to the student center eating his cookie to find Thomas and Janus sitting at the table.

Virgil sat down by his stuff and glanced over his textbook before finding his place and continuing his notes. It didn't take long for him to get bored again, but the break did help him refresh a little. By the time he finished his reading, the others had filled in the empty spaces around him.

Once he was done with his reading, he started on some of his Spanish work. He wanted to see how much he could get done on his own before calling on Roman for help. After he finished all his Spanish, the others decided it was a good time for dinner. Virgil hadn't even realized how much time had passed until now. He had at least gotten a good amount of stuff done. He still had a lot of time in his day.

He actually joined in the conversations a few times during dinner. He was also a lot less stressed with the extra time and found himself able to eat a lot easier. It was nice.

After dinner, he decided to try applying for jobs instead of doing homework. He had done quite a bit today and he needed to get this done too. He went up to his room so he could look at his documents and license for his applications. He ended up finding quite a few places hiring in the area. Most of them were fast food. He hoped he could get out of the food industry, but he was willing to take whatever job he could get. He needed the money.

He stopped after a while and checked the time. It wasn't as late as he had originally thought so he decided to try getting started on another assignment. He decided to try getting ahead in his Spanish work so he wouldn't have to worry about it tomorrow. Maybe if he got enough Spanish done this week, he'd be able to spend the weekend working on his painting project. It was due in a couple of weeks, but the sooner he got it done, the less he'd have to worry about it.

Virgil turned around at the sound of the door opening to see Logan entering the room.

"Hey," Virgil said as he turned back to his work.

"It's kind of getting late," Logan said. "You should probably get to bed soon."

Virgil frowned as he checked the time in the corner of the laptop. Had it really been an hour?

"Yeah, I'll get to bed in a bit. I'm actually feeling productive today and I want to make the most of it," he said.

"I can understand that, but it's also important to sleep, Virgil."

"I know. I know. I'll get there. Just let me finish this first."

Logan was quiet for a moment before he sighed. Virgil heard movement behind him before something was set down on his desk. Virgil looked down to see his medication.

"Can you at least take these now?"

Virgil glanced from the pills to Logan.

"I... I want to get some more stuff done before I go to bed, Logan. I'll take them in a minute."

"It will take some time before they take effect. You can continue working until then."

"But I won't be able to get as much stuff done! Look! I'm almost done with this Spanish assignment!" Virgil said pointing to it.

"Yes, and you can still get it done, Virgil. Sleep is important. At least take these so you can get some sleep tonight. Then I'll leave you alone."

Virgil glanced at the pills again before sighing.

"Fine," he groaned as he grabbed his water bottle. He slid the pills from his desk into his hand before popping them in his mouth and drinking some water. He put the bottle back on his desk before looking up at Logan again. "Happy now?"

Logan nodded before walking away. Virgil turned back to his work while Logan got himself ready for bed.

"Do you mind if I turn off the lights?" Logan asked.

"Go ahead, I can turn down the brightness," Virgil said as he started hitting the button on the laptop.

Logan turned out the light and crawled into bed. Virgil continued working on his Spanish in the silence. He tried to turn the screen a little so it wasn't facing Logan. He could feel himself nodding off and he hated it. He didn't often feel this productive and he wanted to make good use of it. He knew he couldn't exactly get away with just not taking his night meds but they made him so sleepy. He didn't want to sleep yet, but he was so tired now.

He woke up and looked around the room. He didn't even remember falling asleep. He stared at the laptop in front of him. It, too, had fallen asleep. He sighed as he closed the lid and stood up. His back was stiff from the odd position he had been in for who knows how long. He stretched a little before walking out of the room to use the bathroom.

Once he was back in the room, he crawled into bed and curled up under his blankets. He knew he wanted to be mad at Logan for ruining his productivity, but it was hard when his entire being was falling back to sleep. He could be mad tomorrow.
