TW basic angst, cursing

Wed March 31

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

Fuck. Morning again? No. It couldn't be morning again. Why did morning keep happening? Didn't he just go to sleep? He had to have just fallen asleep. He didn't even dream. Did he? He couldn't remember.

"How attached are you to that alarm clock?" Virgil muttered.

"I can always get a new one or just use my phone."

Virgil sighed.

"I hate you."

"Believe it or not, I'm perfectly okay with that," Logan said as he started getting dressed.

Virgil slid out of bed and turned off the alarm before getting dressed himself and heading to the bathroom to finish getting ready. Virgil noticed Janus staring at himself in the mirror as he walked in before he turned to look at him.

"Virgil!" Virgil jumped at the sudden burst of energy. "How do I look? What do you think?"

"Why do I care?" Virgil asked.

Janus hummed to himself as he looked back at the mirror.

"I want to make a good impression," Janus muttered.

"What? Are you going for a job interview or something?" Virgil asked.

Janus pushed him aside lightly.

"Don't be an ass!"

"I'm just asking!" Virgil exclaimed indignantly.

"I think you look fine, Janus!" Remus piped up, a slight blush dusting his cheeks.

"You always say that," Janus waved him off.

Remus opened his mouth to speak before shaking his head and turning away. Virgil glanced between them before sighing and turning his attention to Janus.

"You never really answered my question," Virgil said.

"Why does it matter?" Janus asked.

"I'm okay wearing ripped skinny jeans and a hoodie for a class presentation or a date, but I try to make sure I have no holes in my pants and ditch the hoodie for a job interview or meeting Logan's parents."

"How'd you put your pants on if they didn't have holes in them?" Patton asked as he walked into the room.

They all stared at Patton for a minute before Janus cleared his throat.

"Anyway," he started.

"I thought it was good," Patton muttered as he turned away from the group.

"Anyway!" Janus said a little louder, "It's none of your business."

"You went through all the trouble for that?" Virgil asked.

"First of all, I don't have to explain myself to you. Second of all, it isn't your business. I just want to make sure I look good today!"

"Of course you do, Kiddo. Why wouldn't you?" Patton asked as he squeezed in to wash his hands.

"I... I don't know. I just- I," Janus stammered.

"Oh!" Patton's face lit up. "Are you trying to impress someone?"

Janus blushed slightly as he turned away.

"I- you could say that," Janus muttered as he looked over his hair again.

Patton squealed as he turned to face Janus fully.
