Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

Virgil curled up in his blankets as the alarm blared behind him. He didn't want to get up. He didn't need to be alive today. He just needed bed.

"Virgil?"

No. Not Logan. Logan always made him get up.

"No thanks."

"I only said your name."

"I don't want today. Make it nighttime so I can sleep again."

"Well, I don't have any sort of control over time, so I'm afraid you'll have to wait it out like the rest of us."

"I don't like that answer. Pick a better answer."

"Um... coffee?"

Virgil hesitated.

"Yeah, okay."

Virgil rolled over and sat up. They both got dressed and went to the bathroom to finish getting ready. Logan had them stop by the room to make sure Virgil had his meds before they went to class. Virgil went without Roman this time and stopped for coffee so he could take the pills in peace. He went to Spanish and sat down quietly. He pulled out his phone but just kept opening and closing apps as he tried to find something to do.

"Hey," Roman said as he sat down.

"Hey," Virgil dead-panned.

"Why didn't you wait for me?" Roman asked.

Virgil shrugged.

"Sorry, I just wanted to get coffee. I need to go back to sleep."

"I would've gotten coffee with you."

"I said I'm sorry."

"I know. I can forgive you. I just like walking to class with you. It brightens my day." Virgil turned away as his face heated up but Roman didn't stop. "I don't like how we won't be taking Spanish together next semester. I really like having a class with you. It's the best way to start the day."

"Stop!" Virgil whined. "I'm not that interesting!"

"Well, maybe not for most people, but I can't keep my eyes off you."

Roman winked and Virgil buried his face in his hands.

"Stop!"

Roman laughed.

"No! You're cute when you blush! I want to see!"

Roman grabbed his hand.

"I'm never cute! Don't lie to me!"

"Oh, come on, Kitten!"

Virgil moved his hands to glare at Roman.

"I asked you not to call me that," he said.

"Sorry. I forgot."

"It's fine, just... please try not to forget."

Roman frowned.

"Does it bother you?"

"Why are you trying to push it Roman? Just drop it!"

"I'm sorry! I just... I'll leave it alone."

They were quiet throughout class. Virgil still walked with him to his next class before going to the student center, but they didn't talk much then either. He didn't want to just leave him alone after snapping like that, but... he also didn't know what to say. He did feel kind of bad. He could apologize later when he saw him again. He didn't want to text an apology. It just didn't feel right.
