TW self-deprecation

Virgil woke up to the sound of his alarm. Patton was slipping a shirt over his head as Virgil turned off his alarm.

"Good morning, Kiddo!" Patton said.

Virgil grunted in response.

"Do you have time to join me for breakfast?" he asked.

"I have to shower and go to class."

"What time is your class?"

"9:25."

"You should have time!"

Virgil rubbed his arm as he looked around the room.

"I'll think about it," he mumbled.

Patton tapped Virgil's back with his foot.

"You too good to have breakfast with your pop?"

Virgil scoffed as a smile took over his face.

"No, I just-"

"No more excuses! You shouldn't be skipping meals!"

Virgil bit his lip.

"I just... I'm not that hungry in the mornings. I don't want to spend money on food I might not eat."

Patton frowned letting out a soft hum.

"How about I just bring you back something light like some toast or a banana?"

"I'll be okay, Patton."

"I'll just bring back some fruit, just in case."

Virgil tried to protest, but Patton was already walking away. Virgil showered and got dressed. While Virgil was putting on his makeup, he saw Logan walk into the bathroom with a smile on his face.

"Oh, good morning, Virgil," Logan said.

"You're in a surprisingly good mood," Virgil said.

"I suppose I am," Logan said as he grabbed a toothbrush.

Virgil watched Logan apply toothpaste in silence.

"Well?"

Logan looked up.

"Well what?" he asked.

"Aren't you going to tell me what has you in such a good mood?" he asked.

"Oh!" Logan said, "Right. Marcus said he's doing rush week! If he joins a fraternity, he'll move out to live with them and I won't have to see him again! I'm hoping his parents' influence will guarantee him a spot."

Virgil laughed as Logan began to brush his teeth.

"I hope he gets in, for your sake," Virgil said.

"Mm," Logan spat into the sink before turning to Virgil. "If he does make it in and leaves. You're welcome to stay in my room. It'll be much more comfortable than sleeping on the floor."

"Are you sure?" Virgil said.

Logan nodded before rinsing his mouth.

"I'd have the free space anyway. It'd be a waste if you didn't use it. Besides, you can't be any worse than Marcus."

Virgil smiled.

"Uh, thanks, Logan."

"Of course."

Virgil finished putting on his makeup and left with Logan. He found Patton and Janus walking towards them.

"Heya, Kiddos!"
