TW self-deprecation, cursing

Tues Nov 17

Virgil slowly sat up and stretched. He looked around groggily. How long was he asleep? Only Patton, Joan, and Thomas sat around him. The other spots were completely empty. He guessed they had gone to bed.

"Hey, Virgil," Patton said.

"What time is it?" he asked.

Patton checked his phone.

"It's almost 11. You were asleep for quite some time."

"Shit," Virgil said as he grabbed his calculus work.

"Virgil!"

"What?"

"Watch your language!"

Virgil grunted as he started on his math homework.

"Maybe you should just go back to sleep?" Thomas suggested.

"No, I have to get this done for class tomorrow. I shouldn't have let myself fall asleep," Virgil grumbled.

He was such an idiot. He let himself fall asleep so he'd miss dinner but he didn't even think about his homework! What was he thinking?!

"I had grabbed you some pizza, but it's probably cold by now," Patton said.

"It's fine, I'm not that hungry right now," Virgil said.

"Oh, okay. Well, when you are it's right here," Patton said sliding the greasy napkins towards him.

"Thanks," Virgil muttered.

Eventually, Thomas and Joan went up to bed. Patton didn't want to leave Virgil alone. He kept trying to urge Virgil to go upstairs and go back to sleep. He decided to at least go upstairs so Patton could go to sleep. Virgil didn't want him to fall asleep at the tables again.

After walking upstairs, Virgil threw away the pizza, got changed, and sat down at his desk. He tried to be quiet so he wouldn't wake Logan. He pulled out his math work and set it on his desk. As he went to grab his pencil he noticed the bracelet still sitting on his desk. He ran his fingers along the sides. He had promised to talk to them. He had promised never to hurt himself again. He broke those promises.

He felt tears prick his eyes as he thought about what he'd done. He slowly opened a drawer and dropped the bracelet inside. He didn't want to be reminded of his broken promise. He sighed as he grabbed his pencil and started on his math work again.

After he finally finished he checked his phone. 1:34. He decided to just go to bed. He didn't feel like trying to do Spanish by himself at this hour. He put his work in his bag and crawled into bed.

Wed Nov 18

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

Morning? Again? Why does morning keep happening? Virgil groaned as he rolled out of bed. He slammed his hand down on the alarm clock startling Logan.

"Ah! Okay! Are you okay?" Logan asked as he collected himself.

"No. It's morning. I don't want it to be morning. I want it to be sleep time," Virgil grumbled.

"Well, I'm sorry, but we have to get to class."

"But... sleep!"

"Come on!"

Logan gently led Virgil to the bathroom. Virgil sighed before starting to get ready for the day. He walked to class with Roman, who insisted they stop at the student center for coffee. Roman bought him a black coffee and a chocolate chip muffin when he didn't order anything for himself. They sat down in class and Roman handed him his breakfast.
