Robots from the Sky part Four

"Well, it's been a pleasure bringing the world back from the brink of disaster with you. Now, let's show you guys a night on the town, Morristown style!" Mighton grinned.

Sonic glanced at Penny, who was eyeing his leg in worry. "We should probably head home."

"Agreed." Penny said.

Sonic's communicator blinked, and he turned it on. The one who called him was Amy. "Sonic, when are you coming back?"

Mighton smirked at Sonic. "Who's that? She your girlfriend or something?"

"What?!" Sonic said. "No! It's Penny I care about."

Penny blushed, looking down in embarrassment. "Did you have to say that out loud?" She muttered under her breath.

Bolts nodded. "Oh I get it. She wears the pants in the relationship."

Sonic scowled. "Nobody wears pants! Nobody." He turned on his communicator. "Hey Ames, I think I'm gonna hang back in M-town, see the sights with my bros..."

Penny let out a snort of laughter. Even when Sonic was trying to sound cool, he still kind of sucked at it.

"No problem. But don't forget, we have that..."

Sonic quickly turned off his communicator, looking embarrassed.

"Carefully you dolts! There's a robot that's actually worth it's weight in tin in there." Eggman snapped as Orbot and Cubot broke the ice surrounding the frozen Hypnobot. Once the robot was free, he started moving around.

"Back off fleshy! Robots, defend me!" He tried shooting his hypno laser at Orbot and Cubot, but they dodged it. Cubot hummed. " Hmm... You make a good point, but I'm not convinced."

Eggman grinned at Hypnobot. "Remember me, Hypnobot? Uncle Eggman. I took you over once and used you for the forces of evil."

"You might want to try a different approach." Orbot suggested in a low whisper.

"I mean, you were trapped in a frozen lake and I rescued you."

"Hmm... So you didn't just leave me there to rust, like that turncoat Tails?"

"You hate Tails too? What a co-inky-dink. I loathe that double-rodded goober!"

"And what do you think of his blue companion? Because..."

" ...I despise him with a fury of a thousand suns!" Hypnobot and Eggman said in sync. Eggman grinned excitedly. "Did we just become besties?"

Later...

"Here you go, buddy. Good as new. And that's not all. I also took the liberty of installing a special feature at no extra charge!" Eggman grinned as he put the finishing fixes on Hypnobot.

Hypnobot glanced at his laser cannon and turned to Eggman. "I propose an alliance. Together, we can conquer Morristown and destroy Sonic, Penny, and Tails once and for all!"

"Did you hear that, Cubot? We're finally going to see Morristown!" Orbot said excitedly.

"You two aren't coming. There's more important work for you back here."

Orbot and Cubot stood up straight, looking hopefully at Eggman.

"Make sure the DVR records my stories while I'm gone. The box is kind of finicky."
