Just A Guy

Sonic called Knuckles' new friend Mike Just a Guy. So what? Well, it means different things to most people.

"An incoming Eggman attack! Better get the gang together." Tails said. He pressed his communicator and called everyone. "United Village Defenders of the Village: UNITE!"

"On my way!" Amy said.

"Let's move!" Sticks said.

"I'm on it!" Sonic exclaimed.

"I'll meet you there!" Penny grinned. "Just gotta finish my project."

"Eh.. it's really not a good time for me. I kinda have plans." Knuckles said.

"Wait, what?!" Tails sounded shocked.

"Seriously, Knuckles?" Sonic grumbled.

Sonic and Penny walked right up to the table where Knuckles was sitting on. Sonic frowned. "What do you mean you have other plans?"

Knuckles grinned at them. "I was gonna catch a movie with Mike."

Mike waved at them. "Hi, I'm Mike!"

"Hi, Mike!" Penny said. "I'm Penny!"

"Hi, Penny!" Mike waved at the human girl.

" Uh, yeah, hi. Seriously though we gotta get moving. Eggman's attacking."

"Aww!" Knuckles complained. "but today is the last day of Jungle Fighter 3: Revenge of the Jungle Fighter!"

"Jungle Fighter can wait." Mike told Knuckles. "It is important to battle Eggman."

"Great!" Sonic smiled. "See? Let's go!"

"So, where we going?" Mike asked.

"Uhh, well...to the battle, of course." Penny said. Sonic nodded. " Oh, uh... I meant me and Knuckles."

"Why can't he come?" Knuckles asked.

"Yeah, why can't I come?" Mike asked.

"We can't bring you to a battle.. I mean... You're just a guy." Sonic said.

The audience gasped in shock.

"Just a guy?!" Old Monkey snapped.

Sonic stuttered. "No! I-I didn't mean that... what I meant to say was... he's not... you know..."

" I think you've said enough already." Knuckles said with a frown. Sonic sighed. "Ugh we don't have time for this."

"Agreed." Penny said. She turned to Mike. "Sorry, Mike, but fighting Eggman is dangerous...I promise to tell you everything what happened afterwards." She grabbed her bo staff and hurried after Sonic and Knuckles.

When they made it to the fight, Knuckles was so upset that he decided to bring up Sonic's fault right then and there. " I can't believe you said that to Mike!"

"What did he say?" Tails asked.

Eggman frowned. "Uh.. battle's over here. guys?"

Knuckles growled it out. "He called my friend Mike, "Just a guy"."

Amy and Sticks gasped. Amy glared at Sonic. "Sonic! How could you?!"

"I didn't mean that..." Sonic began.

"Yeah, Sonic! That's a really crummy thing to say to a dude." Eggman sneered down at them.

"Ugh." Sonic grumbled.
