Kennedy was sitting in the window sill reading a book down stairs in the burrow with a blanket rest over her legs. The sun had only just began to rise and she was enjoying her little pocket of serenity and silence as the house slowly began to stir awake. She always was the first one up, even before Arthur who left for the ministry on a normal day.
But with clearance from the Ministry the man was able to take the week off in preparation for a trip he had planned for his kids, including Kennedy. So he ended up sleeping in a bit today while Molly waddled down the stairs all dressed for the day.
Kennedy popped her head up from in her book to whisper a good morning to the women who looked up with a kind smile.
"Up and at it this early again dear? You haven't slept in once this summer." Molly state as she walked into the kitchen so she could grab her apron.
"And neither have you since your down here twenty-three minutes after I sit down." Kennedy state with a smile that made Molly shake her head with a small laugh.
"I guess that's true then. How about we keep these early morning things to the two of us, hm? Arthur would blow a fuse if he knew how early I got up when he is away on trips."
Kennedy furrowed her brows as she placed her book marker in page 102 of her book.
"But he isn't on a work trip?"
"Exactly." Molly state with a finger pointed at Kennedy.
The girl laughed and unwrapped herself from underneath the warm blanket that had incased her so she could walk into the kitchen to help Molly with breakfast. This had became a daily thing for the two.
Kennedy would wake up, shower, get dressed, grab a book and read for awhile in the morning and when Molly finally woke up the two figured out what to make for breakfast so they could cook it and wake everyone up an hour and a half later, sometimes two.
"You know Molly," Kennedy hummed as she popped the fridge open to grab some eggs. "This summer has gone by so quickly. It's been the most fun I have had in forever during a summer. I'll have to thank Arthur for taking on my financial issues later, but for now I just wanted to thank you for taking me in. I'm just forever grateful that I thought your husband was a train worker."
Molly held her hand over her chest as she smiled wildly with a giggle coming from her mouth. Quickly she walked over to Kennedy and swooped the girl into one of her famous Momma Weasley hugs.
"Oh, dear! It's far to early to make me cry!" She complained before pulling back from the hug. "And it is no big deal at all! You're like a daughter to me dear, you truly are."
Kennedy sent her a smile as she set the eggs onto the counter.
"That means a lot Molly. I just hadn't gotten to thank you, so."
"There was really no need for it. I was planning on you moving in at some point I just hadn't expect it to be in this way." Molly said as she pored some flour into a large bowl.
"What?" Kennedy laughed as she whisked a few eggs in another pot.
"Never mind what I said dear." Molly said as she spun toward Kennedy with a floury clap of her hands. "Now, where's the milk?"
============
About an hour later Molly and Kennedy had finished making breakfast. Molly swiped her wand through the air and the dished emerged from there resting places and set themselves neatly along the rim of the table.
Kennedy plopped the last few pieces of homemade French-toast onto a large plate before she picked it up and set it down in the center of the table. Molly grinned and clapped her hands happily as she saw the table fully put together. Along with the French-toast they made, they also put together toping's, a large bowl of scrambled eggs with ham, along with sausage links and fresh orange juice.
