The wind thundered against her skin as Soot dove down some to begin his descend so he could land safely in the Magical Creatures outdoor classroom area. Kennedy squealed with joy as Soot came soaring back down to earth and landed fairly delicately onto the ground, though a small jolt was given to Kennedy's spine when he finally touched down.

"Yeesh, we've got to practice that landing more huh?" She mumbled as Soot trot along the outskirts of the area with a small snort coming from him in response to what Kennedy had said.

With a small chuckle she saw Hagrid coming towards her with Buckbeak trotting happily beside him. Kennedy made sure to hop off before Soot and Buckbeak went charging at one another in a playful manor. They had been best friends ever since Hagrid had gotten Buckbeak, and although the age difference was pretty significant between them they got along perfectly.

"Bunch of big puppies, aren't they?" Hagrid said with a small chuckle that made her smile.

"Definitely. Although the size difference is rather amusing to me."

Buckbeak was a pretty big size for the average Hippogriff but comparing to Soot he was pretty small. If you stacked Buckbeak's Shoulders and up on top of his head, he would barely reach the tip of Soot's beak. He could easily squish Buckbeak if he truly tried so Kennedy always made sure to keep an eye on him when they would play. Although Soot is usually well aware of his physical strength and size.

"'Yer right about that one." He said with a smile as he plopped a rope of ferrets around her neck while he also handed her a sack with roughly three large chunks of lamb in them.

"Keep that close to 'yer, I don't want to risk anything on my first day." He mumbled as he saw his first group of kids walking down the dirt path in there direction.

"Sure thing, Professor Hagrid." She state with a cheeky wink that made Hagrid give her a look of bemusement which led to her laughing some as she walked over to Buckbeak and Soot who immediately gave there attention to her when she swung there treats around.

"That's it. Come on now, come closer." She heard Hagrid say as she tossed Buckbeak a limp ferret and chucked a chunk of lamb to Soot who caught it in his mouth and dropped it into his sharp talons so he could tare off small pieces at a time.

"I got a real treat for you today. A great lesson. So follow me." Hagrid instruct as he led them into the open area where Kennedy stood a little ways back with the two creatures prancing beside her as they finished chewing there treats.

Kennedy looked behind her at the group and caught the eyes of Hermione, Harry and Ron who looked just past her in amazement, much like the rest of the class who pointed and gawked at her with how close she was to the creatures.

"What's she doing over there? Isn't that dangerous?" Crabbe questioned to which Draco shrugged, though his attention was cemented on the girl who stroked the head of the large Griffin that snort heavily as to intimidate the students.

And of course it definitely did.

"Don't you all worry about her. That Griffin there belongs to 'er and 'er family so she's perfectly safe." Hagrid said which caused the students to look between him and her with shock.

"That's hers?" Seamus shout from deep in the crowd to which Hagrid looked to him blankly.

"That is what I said wasn't it? And it would do you all some good to know neither Kennedy or Soot like for him to be referred to as a 'that'." Hagrid state which immediately shut the group up, causing Kennedy to smirk to herself.

'Thank goodness he said something because I was about to smack who ever referred to him as an object rather then a family member or a friend.' Kennedy thought as she made her way over to Buckbeak to make sure he wasn't tense or anything.
