Running along the halls Kennedy found herself with George, Fred, Gabriel, Benny, Leighton, and Maisie, dodging through the crowd of running students who were either going out to guard the castle or were to young and were headed towards safety.
In all honesty everything was feeling a bit strange to Kennedy. A weird layer of fuzziness coated her skin, though it wasn't all that uncomfortable. It was more so comforting up until the point where her skin started to vibrate.
That was when the confusion and curiosity kicked in as the group made near the doors of the school where they could see Professor McGonagall, Sprout, and Flitwick standing on guard with there wands in hand. The wind almost made a sinister sound as it started to whip around the school in circular motion, taunting those inside the border.
The group came to a stop a few feet behind the chatting professors and Kennedy briefly saw something out in the distance, though she decided to ignore it for a moment and turned to her friends.
"Okay guy's... time to part ways I guess." Kennedy mumbled. "Just... be safe alright? All of you! And make sure you always have someone with you, it's better to be in pairs then alone."
"There isn't enough of us though... even with Alicia, Angelina, Katie, Lee, Cedric, and Milo showing up anytime now through the portrait in the common room, that puts Fred and George, Cedric and Lee, Benny and Milo, Maisie and I, and Alicia and Gabriel as partners. What about you?" Leighton asked Kennedy who gave a small smile in response.
"Don't worry about me. I've got a partner already. He'll be here soon."
"He?" George asked with a raised brow that made Kennedy snicker.
"You both hung out with him while I was away, remember?"
With this George looked to Fred briefly with confusion before the two of them smiled and let out a small laugh.
"Ohhh!" Fred laughed. "Alright, that's good enough for me. How about you, Georgie?"
"I'd still like for someone to be with her from this group, but it's better then nothing. Just be safe out there, yeah?" George respond while stepping up to Kennedy who grinned up at him.
"Always. You know I love you. So be safe as well."
"I love you too."
George smiled and bent down, giving her a gentle kiss while his hand grabbed her waist. From behind them they could here Gabriel clearing his throat, causing them to roll there eyes playfully and look back at their friends.
"Alright, anyone got a speech?" Maisie asked with her eyebrows raised.
"What?" Leighton laughed while Gabriel scoffed at the man.
"In any book where they win a war, there is always some sort of speech given, duh."
Leighton widened his eyes and tilt his head in understanding, and as he did everyone's eyes fell upon Kennedy who looked between them all with raised brows.
"Me?" She asked.
"Oh, come on!" Benny cried out. "You've been through hell on earth Kennedy, yet you've always managed to get through it all. If we're all being honest here, we think you're the only one qualified enough to give us an actual speech of encouragement."
The eyes of her friends showed immense love and support as they stare happily at Kennedy whose eyes stung slightly as she smiled and nodded her head.
"Alright... well..." Kennedy thought for a moment before bringing her gaze up from the floor. "War isn't just a physical thing that happens when the world is unbalanced... it happens everyday in different ways, shapes and forms. For me I've been at war my entire life, whether it be from day to day struggles or simply just my own mental battles."
