Standing in front of the house Kennedy had visit a few years ago before everything had gone to complete shit, Kennedy recognized the small home and all the perfectly placed shrubbery and flowers that had started to die out from the lack of attention the Dursleys must've been giving them.
The paint on the wood planks covering the walls of the house was starting to chip, and most of the windows were lightly dusted. She could see the door from where she stood as everyone dismount from their rides, and the chips along with the frame of the door clearly showed how Harry's extended family left in quite a hurry.
It was understandable. Just rather upsetting to see that they were forced so suddenly out of their home. Even if they were some of the worst people Kennedy had met.
And that was a fairly long list.
Her attention never shift from the doorway as Ron and Hermione raced for the door. Earlier after the meeting, Hermione arrived and profusely apologized for being late, though it was dismissed immediately since they all knew what she had decided to do.
The poor girl erased her parents memories, leaving her nothing but a complete ghost story that her parents couldn't even care to know anymore. Kennedy felt odd when she heard what the girl did. She understood why she did it, but something in Kennedy didn't sit right with it all.
She just felt... anger.
Jealousy even.
The fact that Hermione had parents who loved her so much and would and did do everything for her, only for her to just... wipe them away? It hurt Kennedy considering she never really had the 'ideal' parents as the girl had gotten. But nonetheless, there was no time for petty jealousy, so Kennedy had shrugged it off and decided to stare at a family house was better.
Kennedy snapped out of her thoughts when a bump to her arm suddenly swayed her, and her eyes shot up to see Gabriel offering her a kind smile.
Giving the boy one in return she nodded her head to the door, and he left her to herself once more when he met up with Leighton and Benny walking through the door.
"You alright?" Kennedy heard George ask from behind her, causing her to turn her head slightly and smile.
"I'm alright. You go on ahead... I'm just gonna... I think I'm just gonna look a little longer." Kennedy mumbled.
George didn't quite understand, and he was apprehensive about leaving her out here alone since everyone had just gone inside. That was until someone behind him waved him away, and with a sweet kiss to her skull, George walked into the house, straight past the chipped doorway.
Kennedy could hear the small pieces of gravel shifting under the weight of someone's foot. The sound grew closer until the sound stopped directly beside her, and from the far side of her eye she could barely make out traces of brown hair with overgrown roots of silver, holding jus the occasional streak of silver throughout the main head of hair.
"I told you long ago Kennedy. You suck at lying." Maisie mumbled as she shoved her hands in her pockets.
Kennedy let out a short laugh as she shift from foot to foot; the slightest breeze passing by that caused her skin to texturize itself.
"Yeah, well. My bad lies seemed to convince everyone I was fine for quite some time, now didn't they?" Kennedy mumbled bitterly.
Maisie turned her head with a slightly raised eyebrow, a look of subtle shock and concern on her face.
"You're not ok. And that's apparent, very clear. Normally I wouldn't say this to you since you're really all I've got right now other than Leighton. But you've got to hold on a bit longer here, okay? There's a boy in there that needs you to hold on just a bit longer so he can see the light of day just once more. Hold on a bit longer Kennedy. And then when things are okay again, you can break. Just... just hold on." Maisie said to Kennedy who nodded and gave a small smile.
