Once Kennedy had made it back to her dorm room she decided to hop in the shower before she would change into proper attire for breakfast in the great hall.
As Kennedy washed the soap from her hair she stare ahead at the bathroom wall thinking about everything that she had learned this year. From everything about the castle to things about her father and her family.
To say the least she was feeling overwhelmed in more ways then one. She was extremely relieved to know that she wasn't something her father had decided he didn't want anymore but she couldn't help but feel angry at the man she hadn't ever met.
Kennedy wanted nothing more then to be spending Christmas at home with her family like all her other friends even if it was just herself and her father. Who knows, maybe he could get Bonnie back on her feet.
Kennedy was overly grateful for the Henson's having her for Christmas during her first year and that was truly probably the first Christmas Holiday she felt like a normal kid. Her second Christmas she had spent with her Aunt Bonnie though to nobody's surprise she was drunk the entire time so Kennedy spent the day on the roof of the building in the snow.
She longed for the warm feeling of comfort she assumed kids had when they walked down the hall to see their living room decorated for the holidays. Though Kennedy knew she wouldn't have what she wanted as long as she held the last name Deadlock.
Fear swallowed her whole as she imagined the look on peoples faces if they were to ever find out who her family was. The total count of death's caused by the Deadlock family from the last 25 years was around 437 innocent Wizard and Muggle families.
Kennedy feared people would see her as another psycho under the name of The Deadlocks and she wanted anything but that to be the case.
She was her own person and she wanted people to see that. Not for their judgement to be clouded just because she shared the last name of a family who was known to attract nothing but death from everywhere they went.
Though deep down Kennedy knew that would never be the case.
As she finished rinsing her hair from the suds she turned the hot water off to step out of the shower only to turn and face a fogged mirror that was mount on the wall in front of her.
Staring intently at herself she memorized every feature on her face, scanning herself up and down till when she would blink all she would see was herself.
She understood that what she was feeling was temporary but that didn't stop her from thinking that it may be permanent and that this fear would consume her for the rest of her life.
Shaking her head from the thoughts that consumed her, Kennedy grabbed her wand from the bathroom counter before she spelled herself completely dry when she began to redress herself into a simple outfit of jeans and her sweater that molly had made her.
As Kennedy stared down at the sweater that hugged her body she couldn't help but smile. Her mind began to travel to what Maisie had said to her just the previous day before Kennedy had dropped her best friend at the train station.
"..you spend so much time with Fred and George!"
"Woah, woah! Don't turn this on me, we're talking about you right now."
"Oh come on! If you don't see it now I don't think you ever will."
Kennedy fixed her sweater before she left the bathroom as her thoughts continued to swivel through her mind. Endless questions were flowing in and out of her main focus as she continued to fiddle with the hem of her sweater.
