That night things were quiet. The slightest of whispers could be heard echoing through the halls towards the doors of the hospital wing where Kennedy lay still in the cot she had been in for months on end.

In all honesty, Kennedy was feeling rather exhausted which seemed to concern Madam Pomfrey until McGonagall came in to assure the women it was merely because Kennedy's body was using a constant flux of energy from her abilities that caused her body to just slightly decrease in energy over the time she was asleep so she would stay that way.

Once the women had explained a bit more about Kennedy's situation, she found herself sitting at the end of her bed talking constantly about many things ranging from her schoolwork to life outside of the wizarding world.

According to McGonagall, Bonnie crashed again into her old drinking ways and suddenly up and disappeared about two months before Kennedy woke up. Although she didn't care to hear about the women, she was far more concerned with how she would graduate without having attended the first half of the first semester.

Apparently, the professors had come to a conclusion is she could study hard to catch up and at the end of the term If she took the exam and at least passed above an Acceptable then she would be able to graduate.

Of course, Kennedy being who she was immediately got to work, though Madam Pomfrey made sure she took a thirty-minute break every hour so she didn't overwork her brain after its been shut off for so long.

Lucky for her she had Leighton and Alicia there to help her pick up some of her old study habits again. After all, they were the ones who led her to pass her Owl exams with Exceeds Expectations and Outstanding's in all her classes.

Except for potions, of course, she got an Acceptable but that didn't bug her at all. She was just grateful she escaped the wrath of Snape.

On the other hand of passing all her classes, she had received some rather upsetting news after her friends had been dismissed for the night.

When she had shut down her brain to stop herself from losing control of herself, she ended up damaging her peripheral nerves. Kennedy hadn't known what that meant, so McGonagall summed it up a bit more simple for her.

Basically, a portion of Kennedy's nerves around the sensory area of the brain was damaged along with the nerves surrounding her spinal cord.

In short, Kennedy's ability to feel things by touch was now severely damaged, leaving it unrepairable.

Though Kennedy wasn't as phased as she thought she would have been. Maybe it was because she was still slightly disoriented from finally being away, or maybe it was just flat-out shock.

Either way, she hoped it didn't go away any time soon.

Not being able to feel anything became much more real when George had come to say goodnight and he rest his hand firmly against her cheek, leaning down to kiss her forehead.

She hadn't been able to feel anything. The warmth was the only thing she could just barely feel.

That's what made it come crashing down onto her.

Even amongst the panic of no longer being able to physically feel anything against her skin Kennedy told Madam Pomfrey and McGonagall to keep quiet about her diagnosis.

If Kennedy wasn't in any pain and it wasn't putting her in danger, there was no point in telling them. They would pity her for nothing.

All until midnight Kennedy stayed up with her eyes wide open as she circled her mind of thoughts. She had yet to come face to face with a supposable 'Umbitch,' but she had a feeling that it was for the better.
