George left Kennedy alone in her room about an hour ago. Her friends had yet to come back so she had been stuck for what felt like ages alone with her thoughts. Alone with the fact that she didn't even know if George and her were still an item or not.

Alongside those thoughts, she had to start worrying about what she would do when she graduated. She could go on the run, make a new name for herself and live in the muggle world a few states away from where she had grown up. Then again that wouldn't make her much better than her father.

She didn't want to run away from her problems anymore, but the more and more they piled up the more she just wanted to leave them for someone else to deal with.

But even Kennedy knew that would be terribly irresponsible. Plus, nobody knew her issues better than she had, so really she was the only one left to deal with her problems.

The biggest ones at the moment for her were one, her father, who always seemed to take power over the top spot no matter what. Two, George who now seemed to either hate her or just despise her for the time being. And three, of course, her ability to control herself and her impulses.

Though frankly, she was rather surprised she hadn't had a breakdown when it came to the conversation George and she had just an hour ago. So maybe future her was right.

Maybe she was gaining control.

But then again, things always seemed to take a turn for the worse when it came to Kennedy, and that was proven completely true just by the events of tonight.

So with her eyes bloodshot, swollen, and red, Kennedy lay curled up in her pile of blankets as the world around her once more seemed to cause an endless amount of pain and annoyance in her life.

Though she might have spoken too soon as the door to her room suddenly burst open with Maisie smacking the back of Milo and Benny's head from where she sat perched on the back of Leighton while Gabrielle trailed behind them with a few different platters of snacks made by the kitchen elves.

The group had come in relatively loud, all blabbering about something that happened to them when they were young and found their parents wands, though when Gabrielle noticed Kennedy curled up facing the opposite wall he immediately felt like something was off.

"Hey guys- quiet down a little," He mumbled as he walked to the side of Kennedy's bed nearest to her back.

"Kennedy, what's wrong?" Gabrielle asked the girl with a tender voice, seeming to gain the attention of his friends whose voices faded were a look of concern or confusion replaced it.

"Kennedy?" Maisie asked as she pried herself free of Leightons grip, dropping to the ground behind him while she walked over to the side of her bed that her face had been looking toward.

Maisie glanced to Gabrielle who shrugged and mouthed something along the lines of 'I don't know what to do'.

Turning her gaze to the girl underneath her, Maisie's eyes scanned the expression on her best friends face. It was hollow, emotionless, and warn-down. She seemed utterly...

"Heartbroken," Maisie muttered under her breath, catching Gabrielle by surprise as well as the three who made their way to the end of Kennedy's bed where they either stood or sat.

"What?" Gabrielle asked.

"She's heartbroken," Maisie whispered sadly as she placed a caring hand on Kennedy's forearm while the girls eyes began to burn.

Though no tears were able to surface as she had cried them all away. Even the strongest of damn eventually burst, though frankly for Kennedy hers had run dry long after it had been rebuilt.
