After an eventful winter holiday and the cold slowly turned over, the sun began to melt the frosted flowers and grass and all the birds from the owlery flew back to their perch, ready to deliver more letters if needed to.
Kennedy was currently sitting with Maisie and Cedric outside in the quad, all three of them basking in the sun as they babbled on about crazy relatives and the adventures they had over the break.
"Wait, let me get this straight. You had a date with a first year who was crying on Christmas?" Cedric said absolutely bewildered by the information he had just heard.
"What- no!" Kennedy mumbled as she scribbled a summery into her notes for potions class on how to brew the Cure for Boils while Maisie sat reading a book next to Cedric as she fiddled with her Rose necklace.
"Now that sounds like a blast." Maisie muttered sarcastically.
"Doesn't it Kennedy?" Cedric said nudging the girl with her shoulder, causing her quill to slide across her parchment, luckily not covering any of her notes.
"Ced!" She gasped before turning to the boy who was struggling to hold in his laugh.
"You're supposed to be helping her study for our charms exam coming up, not ruin the notes that you have told her to write, you git!" Maisie yelled as she to tried to hold in her laughs.
"Kennedy, calm down. We still have time to study and you can just use another piece of parchment." Cedric tried to reason, but the girl only grumbled to herself as she furiously rubbed the ink, only to make it worse.
"Kenny, come on, you know he was only messing around." Maisie said giving the girl one of her classic side smirks, which only made Kennedy stare at her with a blank expression.
"What if you were me?" Kennedy said as she stared to Maisie who immediately turned her attention to Cedric with a frown.
"That was terribly ill hearted of you Cedric."
As Maisie stared to Cedric with a judging look, Cedric gaped to her while his hands flailed in the air as his attention shift between the two girls.
"Why do you two agree so quickly over things?!"
"We know where each other sleep." Kennedy and Maisie respond in sync which only caused Cedric to look even more confused so Maisie explained further as she closed her book gently.
"Kennedy and I share a room so we decided to make a pact stating that we will avoid disagreements at all cost with one another so we can both hopefully make it to our seventh year."
"Meaning we are trying to avoid killing one another." Kennedy finished while Cedric just nodded his head as he pursed his lips.
"I still don't get it, but I'm gonna accept it anyways."
"Smart choice." Maisie said smiling as she leant against Cedric's side while she watched amused as Kennedy struggled to find a blank peace of parchment within her book bag.
"Oh Kennedy, Hermione wanted me to tell you to meet her, Ron and Harry at the library around... fifteen minutes ago. She asked if I wanted to come but I need to help Cedric with some study plans for his exams." Maisie mentioned to her friend who looked to her with a blank face as she squeezed her hands together.
"Fifteen minutes ago- Maisie!" Kennedy said appalled as she quickly gathered her things throwing them into her book bag as she scrambled to pack away her ink safely and securely while Cedric laughed and scoffed cockily to himself.
"Remember, you two know where the other sleeps."
"Oh shut it, Diggory." Kennedy mumbled as she began to sprint away from the two.
